The tracking post stays it can take up to 36 hours to get to the port after the final QA. Looks like my car has a good chance of getting to the port on time, but will it fit on the boat are will they already have a full load. I sure hope it makes the first boat.
Sure, no problem. Hope you make the first boat too! Maybe some of my (seemingly) early production completion will rub off and you'll be done on 3/9 so you've got a better shot at the 3/13 ship

The OL updated last night to "Scheduled for Production" and it showed my VIN!

The MINI is supposed to be finished the 12th, hopefully I can hop on the same boat as you guys...if not, when is the next boat?

Thanks COKen, I was too excited and forgot to look a page back...

I think my production will end too closely to the 3/13 boat leaving, so I'm hoping for the 3/17 boat (the Faust), arriving NYC 3/27...

I feel like a stalker....

I really wish I had your short trip. It says my boat is going to take at least 23 days.

Anyway, I hope you get that 4.9% rate!
i was told this as well.

but then I got an email from a dealer telling me about the 2.9%

if they are offering 2.9%, 3.9% and 4.9% on vehicles that "might need to be ordered", how can they not lock you into a rate now, if your car is already on order, and is likely not to arrive at the dealer before 3/31? it seems like a loophole that is invisible.

As for the rate; the MFS site doesn't say it's only for "on the lot" vehicles (for the 2.9, 3.9 or 4.9 rates) - just that it's for non convertibles and that you have to take delivery by 3/31.

As with anything, nothing's confirmed until it's on paper, but definitely something I'll be aiming for if my car gets here in time
i placed my order on 12/24. was told that MINI didn't start production on HB clubmans until week 10. then last week, was surprised to see a HB on the Clubman board, having been delivered to a customer in MA. (which means that MINI had produced a HB Clubman before week 10)
Got confirmation this morning that my car is either in transit to port or at port awaiting the chance to be loaded on a ship. (I think that it will go to a port in Charleston) so the earliest it will leave is March 11, or 12. and will take at least 13-15 days to arrive in Charleston, so? guessing that it won't make it out of the VDC until the 26th-31st. no way is it going to make it to the dealer and me before 3/31.

why do they offer the 2.9% on ordered cars? when there is NO way it could be delivered by 3/31?

The rates are, so far as I can tell, an enticement to move cars but also to move them off the lot. Maybe they had to offer it on ordered cars as well? In any case, I agree that it'd be nice if priority 1 orders (anything we custom order) were lockable at the various special rates that happen from time to time.

Just as a heads up, if it does get to your dealer by the 31st then (according to the finance person at MoS) they should be able to still do the rates from this month.

Maybe you'll end up on the TORRENS (WW instead of KLine), which leaves port on the 10th and is scheduled into Charleston 3/23. That'd get you out of the VDC around 3/26 (barring any problems), which might be enough time to get you to your dealer.

Just spoke to ASK MINI - looks like my MCS entered the body shop today! All of you tracking experts - does that still put me on target for 3/11 completion? I really want to make the TOPEKA

As for the financing, I was told as long as the MCS arrives before the end of the month, I can get the 2.9% for 36 months.

The body shop is one of the last 3-4 days, so if it's there already then I wouldn't be surprised if it was done by Monday/Tuesday next week.

For comparison, I was in the body shop on Tuesday and was "In Transit" (via ASKMINI) by last night

I've got an email out to my MA to see if he can confirm that my car is headed to the docks, but it doesn't make much difference since the earliest transport (TORRENS) isn't in port until next week anyway.

Here's my recap:

2/27 production started
3/5 Paint shop (already painted per ASK-MINI)
3/9 estimated completion

If I'm lucky, it might make it off the Island on 3/13 on the Topeka, scheduled @ Pt. Hueneme on 4/5. If not, I'm certain it'll be the Carmen 3/20-4/14.

whatever it is, I'm confident I'll receive it in April as the Socialist State of California will double our registration & increase our tax rate to 9.25% ( a double whammy!) What a smart way to increase tax revenue: de-stimulate spending.

Does anyone know which port San Antonio Texas uses? I've got my VIN and scheduled for completion on the 11th? What ship does that possible get me on?
-looks like I'm gonna have to talk to my dealer about financing again. last I heard was 4.9%, but I've asked for an update with now response...hmmm. what's he hiding?

I would guess that you'd come in through the Brunswick, GA port (which is the WW line)? Your dealer should be able to tell you, or do you have your Vehicle Inquiry Report? That has the port on it, too. Once you get the port info, you can use this link to see all the upcoming schedules for the WW line: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...pe=generatePDF.

If you are coming in through Brunswick then it looks like FAUST, COURAGE or INTEGRITY are the potential ships for you and none of them would get the car to your dealer by the end of the month (FAUST might get into port on the 31).

That may be why they aren't saying anything about financing, since the deal from MFS is only good if you take delivery by 3/31.

All I can say is ... ouch. Guess they figure if the federal gov't is going to give California residents some extra cash that, well, hell, they might as well tax it right into the state coffers

Hey guys I just ordered my R56 on Monday and I guess I'm in week 11 because my completion date is 3/12. I can't believe the build is so quick, I waited 8 to 10 weeks for my R53 back in 06. Specs will be in my signature momentarily...

That's definitely a quick turnaround, I mean it must be a couple days into production already (started building on Wed?).

And welcome

Isn't that amazing? In between taxing my paycheck, sales tax, prop tax, I don't even get to keep half my pay. At least I get to chose what I drive!!

SNB3, where is your MINI going? Mine sounds like it is 1 day behind yours (paint today and in production on the 2nd). I'm in San Francisco and hoping for the Topeka as well....

cgossett, I see you're planning on doing offset stripes, happen to have a picture of what style you're going for? I'm going to do some aftermarket offset stripes as well, but I haven't decided upon the details yet.

[Edit]
I was thinking of doing something like this:

but both in white and not over the roof (and less gap between the thick & thin). It's not the best picture ever, so try to look past that while judging the potential aesthetics

I am not sure what build week I am since only the automated ASK MINI is working on the weekend...but guess it would be 1-7March09 ? Which is what production week ? 9 or 10 ?

I ordered my MCCS on February 11th. Yesterday was my first time visiting the Mini Lounge armed with my Production Number. Status indicated "Scheduled For Production". Checked again today both on the Lounge and the Automated ASK MINI and status apparently during last 12 hours has changed to "Awaiting Transport" ! Seems pretty quick to get to this stage...probably because I only just started tracking it and so it seemed to move along quickly. My dealer indicates their cars come thru the New Jersey port.

Well, if you're "Awaiting Transport" now, then production had to start the last week of February, so you're Week 9 like me. Welcome to the "Week 9 - 11 or 12" thread

Hopefully we make the TORRENS on the 10th. Seems like it's in port for less than a day (leaves Belgium on the 9th), but that ought to be enough time to load some MINIs right?

[Edit] Forgot to mention, if you're on the WW line (which you are, since you're coming into NJ) then you can use your VIN to see what ship you're on, etc. The website is here http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/ and you put your VIN into the Cargo ID field. My VIN's not in their system yet, but I keep checking in the hopes that the transportation teams work on the weekends.

Cameroon - are you officially "Awaiting Transport" now? I've got my fingers crossed you make it on to the TORRENS. How many days do you have between your production finish date and the TORRENS departure date?

I am getting nervous I won't make the 3/13 TOPEKA (production finish date is 3/11). I think that's my only hope of getting the car in before 3/31 and getting the 2.9% financing.

Mine was in production on the 2nd, but when I called last night I was still in the Body Shop. What day are they giving you for your production end date?

ETA:

I just went to the WW website, and I swear the schedule is changed. Now TOKPEA is departing 3/14 (I thought it was 3/13) and is going to take 10 days to get to New York instead of 9? Looks like I have no chance of getting it by 3/31 anymore.

Mine was in the paint shop when I checked yesterday. Its scheduled to complete on 3/10 and I'm also keeping my fingers crossed to make it on the Topeka.

Good luck on making the boat!

Thanks for the ship tracking website. I entered my VIN but it lists no records. Maybe it will by later today/tomorrow. If the ship leaves on the 10th, then I guess still plenty of time to make it onboard and not load on next ship. Guess it depends on how crowded the dock is right now with cars before us.

If we really want to get into this...maybe we should check the weather out there right now. Our cars may be enjoying a nice sunny day while waiting to be shipped.
