Week 3 (1/11-1/17/09) Support Group
Let's just hope for all of us waiting (and waiting, and waiting) that the VDC is not soooo screwed up they will start to process Fedora's cars (ship docked last night)...
Setting up the sports stripes is a 20 minutes process tops ! I used to do that for a living and the trailer on an 18 wheeler was covered in an afternoon... So in my book this cannot be an excuse for their bad planning!
Sorry I vented... I just waited much too long to take the lame excuses lightly!
Chris.

Okay I must come clean. No more than 10 minutes after I posted my previous note, I got a call from my MA that my MINI has arrived. I guess the OL estimated delivery date was right, MA's previous estimate was wrong. Although I don't think any of them really know until the truck pulls with a load of MINIs. Hang in there everyone. You'll be motoring before you know it.
mrdirosa, svtcobra281: I don't believe the the OL is correct. The OL says my delivery date is today and yet, instead of motoring, I'm here waiting just like the rest of you. My MA told me on Saturday that my mini was scheduled for delivery to their dealership on 2/27 and I could pick it up on Saturday. I had the same reservations about damage during shipping but she assures me it's fine, that the delay is due to the sports stripes which are done at the VCD.
She did say there are no truck deliveries on weekends (to SF). I suspect that if our minis are on a truck by thursday/friday, we should be motoring by this weekend. Let's hope so.

Edit: woops, found it, now it's showing 2 March, lame.
Cobra... on OL, check again under "review order detail"... and right under the Pickup Dealer, there should be an ETA...
All: I will FINALLY quit whining !!! Yeahhhhhh !!!
MAs just called and let me know car will be ready tomorrow... I wont be able to pick it up before Saturday, but I am guessing I should have a smile on my face all day Sunday !!!
Counting hours now
!

Congratulations to all that will be taking delivery soon! I picked up my car for the second time yesterday! It was kinda like taking delivery again, and this time the MINI wasn't smoking or leaking!! I am thrilled and realized how much I truly love this car and it was worth the second wait.
My salesman (I can't bring myself yet to call him an MA) said that if the OL shows an ETA for the dealership, it means the car has left the VDC. Anyone have a sense if that is right? It almost could make sense. My ETA is March 12, which I think means the car will sit at the dock in Long Beach for a week or two before the 3 or 4 day sail to Honolulu. Or it's still at the VDC. Or the OL is, as usual, just wrong. This is fun. I haven't had a proper obsession like this in a long time.

You'd think they've been doing this long enough to be able to track the cars at this point.
Picked up today
Wow. I finally got it.
I love, love, love, love the color. Midnight black is quite beautiful, if I do say so myself. What a great ride!
I took the LONG way home and drove out to the Pacific Coast Highway from San Francisco to Half Moon Bay and stopped to take some pictures. Enjoy!

Pacific Ocean in the background. Along the Great Highway, San Francisco CA.

Not too happy that MINI SF took the liberty to drill holes in my bumper for the license plate. CA law blah blah blah.

My first mod. 8 ball antenna ball.
There are a couple more pics in my gallery. Enjoy.

kewlby - your MINI is beautiful, I love the sport stripes! Must have been rough snapping those pics by the ocean! I was able to get some shots of mine in the driveway, hardly compares to the Pacific Ocean.
Awesome pictures kewlby! Just got word from my MA that our Clubman is expected to be delivered to the dealership TODAY! There is still a chance it will be ready for tomorrow!!!
Holding my breath and crossing my fingers!

No go...it didn't arrive
Zuggy is NOW part of our family.
She is resting after I had her out for a late night drive. I know we may all be a little biased when comapring our cars to others, but I do have to say, Zuggy was definitely the cutest car in the lot at dinner tonight
Congrats to everyone on this particular thread, who has been able to get their babies this past week. Motor on . . .

It's now 1 day past the estimate on the OL, my dealer said as of yesterday that he hasn't received it yet, and they thought it'd be there last Saturday. Tomorrow will be 14 days since the Pacific Breeze landed in CA.. where the hell's my car at!?
