New to the MINI family

Just a note to introduce myself. I'm a new member of the Mini family - got my '09 Mini 3 weeks ago - Kermit is British Metallic Racing Green - white roof and bonnet stripes; 16" 5 spoke alloys w/run flats, auto w/paddle shift; convenience pkg. So far I could not be happier that I chose this car. Can't believe I've been missing out on how much fun there can be to driving around.

Question for you experienced owners: I chose not to order the factory Sirius 'cause I already had a portable radio that I also bring with me when I travel. Trying to find the best spot to mount it. I've read the threads on the Kuda mount - also found a mount listed on Minidomore.com that would put the unit next to the Tach. Wanted to know if anyone had used the Tach side mount. I'm thinking of using the Kuda for my Garmin and mounting the Sirius on the left side of the Tach. Opinions anyone?

Also - I've read several threads about the antenna already being available in the 07 & 08 models - anyone know if that is also there in the '09?

Appreciate any comments.

Happy for you. Search NAM and you'll find mounting discussions. I've seen several, to include reviews of different hardware.

Congrats on new MINI.

I had mine installed at Best Buy...they put the antenna directly behind the RC Antenna in the back. The Head Unit is placed in the general console (Area where the cup holders, heated seat buttons, and under the CD player in the R56). It is hidden and out of the way.
