New member of the MINI clan - Portland, OR area

Greetings. Just got my 2009 MCS a couple of weeks ago. Bought it as mid-life crisis antidote. Still getting used to some idiosyncrasies but love it so far. Because of a bad left knee I had to go with a steptronic xmission; I would really have preferred the manual. Oh well.

I've already had the windows tinted and I'm glad I did. Looks much better. Really sorry I didn't opt for the HID option. Looking into OEM upgrade right now. Has anyone else had experience with that?

Looks like very informative forums on this site. I'm looking forward to getting lots of good info about affordable things to trick out the little demon. Suggestions are welcome.

Welcome.
PDX here too.
My new 09 MCS due in port on Dec. 4th. This will be the best Xmas ever! I'll be saying goodbye to my 03 MC when it arrives though. It will be bittersweet.

Congrats on your new addition

It's good to hear that you enjoyed your 03 enough to buy another. Should make for a fun holiday. Is yours a manual or steptronic? I'm curious to hear if others with an 09 MCS and steptronic experience the same hesitation that I do when trying to press gently on the gas from an idle or dead stop. Mine goes back in to Rasmussen tomorrow to check on that and a slightly uneven idle.

Welcome to a great group of PDX area MINItes. You will find quite a few drivers who flash lights and wave at their fellow drivers. I am a manual driver, so no help with your auto. Rassmussen has been a great dealer to work with. They seem to listen and work with you to resolve any issues.

Hope you got the rubber floor mats! I think the rain is here to stay for the next 5 months.

Welcome to NAM from Middle Georgia Minis!! You have a new MINI and also live in the great NW. I'm green with envy. I am a "Honorary Oregonian"
bestowed on me by a fellow NAM member. My Brother lived in the Portland area for many years and every time I visited, I wanted to stay. May you have many trouble free miles and great adventures along the way.
