Waiting On 2 New Minis

Hi Everyone. I just found this web site yesterday. The same day I placed the order for our new MINI's. My wife is getting a MC and I am getting a MCS. They are both going to be Chile Red with the white roof with white strips on the bonnet. They will rock.

We kind of went hog wild and got a bunch of options but hey there MINI's. Now the wait begins. I have build numbers but just got them yesterday. I think I have a December build date but haven't verified that yet.

Anyway I'm going to hang out and continue to let the excitement build. I look forward to getting lots of knowledge and hope that I eventually can share that with others.

Just a little bit about my car background. In high school I was a poor kid who drove a 1956 Buick Wildcat with 430 CI engine. That car was big and heavy but it could run circles around a lot of cars in my high school. I then went into the Marines and managed to get my hands on a 1969 Roadrunner with big block and 6 pack. I ran the pants off that car. Blew the motor and rebuilt it even faster. Then the gas crunch hit. For those of you that are old enough to remember that was the days of loooonnnggg gas lines. So I sold the car to a high school kid who promptly wrapped the car around a telephone pole. End of the Roadrunner. Then I got married and had kids. End of the hotrods. Skip to middle age. Kids gone and then in 2005 I bought a Pontiac GTO. 6.0 400 hp 6 speed tranny. It hauls butt. Hit the apex and cram the gas. Real nice car. Well it has 75 K on it now so the wife and I started thinking MINI's and went down to the local MINI dealer. Took a test drive and the rest as they say is history.

Anyway, this is way longer than I intended. I hope to get to know a lot of folks here.

Take care.

Regards,

Pat

Congratulations to you and your wife. I think that's great that you will both have one. The Mini is a wonderful car.

Relatively new here also, but have found lots of great information here and a lot of really nice people.

It's going to be a long wait, but well worth it.

Congrats. Should be a great pair of cars.
However, talk with you MA and try to get production week 48 or 49 as the MINI plant will be shut down for weeks 50-52. Which means that your cars could be be pushed until the beginning of the new year.
There might not be much that they can do at this point but it is worth a try. If they are pushed back hopefully it is not a big problem for you. Other than the annoyance of having to wait longer for your MINIs.

Yes, my MA emailed me this morning and is getting me production week 48 or 49, for this same reason,, that the Mini plant is taking an extended ( 2 weeks longer than usual ?) holiday break.
Hopefully she will be able to do this, I am trying to time mine with a February lease end.

Ho ho ho!!

Everytime my wife and I go to NW MINI I get in trouble. We switched my wifes MC to a MCS with the auto transmission. What the heck it's only money. So now we are going to have 2 S's in the house. Oh My!!

The wait is going to be the toughest.

Regards,

Pat

Wow!

2 new MINI's at once! Sweet!

I just picked up my new Clubman today. This is my 3rd Cooper.

These have been good cars to me and they keep getting better every year!

Dave
