Impatient Atlantan

Bronwyn, was born yesterday, 9/9/08, and is waiting on her carrier now. Looking forward to seeing her after her after her "cruise". She'll be calling Atlanta home after I go to pick her up @ Global Imports Mini in about a month (hopefully less? )

I feel like the little boy in this commercial...

Congratulations and welcome to the NAMily! Mine is due in two weeks. I hope the "cruise" is short and so is the wait.

Happy Motoring!

Hey Qksilvr, I posted a reply to you over in week 37.

Who's your MA at Global? Mine's Shelly.

We'll probably be on the Independence II together. I'm hoping to pick up Bianca on Saturday, October 4th.

Hey you two,

Count a 3rd Atlantan in here.Looks like Scarlett might be traveling with you guys as well. I am kind of disappointed with the information available online, ok maybe expecting UPS/ FED-Ex type tracking might be a bit optimistic, but a bit more 'standardized system might be helpful. All I know is that the website shows her still scheduled for production, phone reps say she is done with QA and waiting on carrier and the WW website will not show her yet..did you guys have any luck after plugging in your VIN to track?
I got the car through MINI of S Atlanta......are you both paying the 499 doc fees at Global? Just make sure there is no 'prep' fee tacked on as well.

I just learned scarlett is still on the dock waiting on a carrier. I was informed that for us the port of entry will be Brunswick, not Charleston so an extra 2 days after the Charleston guys get offloaded. I still do not show on the WW website so I am guessing we might not be on INDEPENDENCE II unfortunately. Oh well....last few weeks ya'all!!

No "Prep" fee, but a "MINI delivery package" fee of $595. When I asked, she said that included floor mats, a full tank of gas and some other things that probably don't add up to $595, but I'll discuss that with her when I go to pick up my car. What she said seemed reasonable in the fog of putting my money down, but I'll see.

And yes, there's a "Documentary Fee" of $499.00 typeset on the order form. Did any of you get them to delete this?

I've got to go to the WW website to check. I was told by Rick that Bianca was most likely sailing on the Independence II. I'll let you know if this is what the website's showing.

This Global 'prep' fee is complete nonsense. Am I correct in understanding that the fee is in addition to the doc fee of 499? I can barely stomach the 499 but the prep fee is just complete robbery. I would oppose it or make every effort to reduce it. The mats $100 odd cost I get, but charging for a tank of gas and some other minor accessories?? MINI south Atlanta made it clear that the doc fee was all that they were running away with

Napria, I initially was going to go with Global but the 'prep' fee completely discouraged me, so MINI south Atlanta got my business. I cannot understand why a doc fee plus prep fee, both pure profit must be levied on every MSRP!! sale.

so, i emailed my MA and he STILL doesn't know when LOLA will ship and she doesn't show up on the WW site yet. she was born on september 6th. are other Atlantans having similar issues? do you think we're on a K-Line ship? shouldn't our MA's know that?

thanks for your help.

I think we have a problem here....for some reason its been TEN days and I am still on the dock....this is very odd, people seem to be shipping out pretty quick, some in a matter of days and here we are, stuck at the port. I know that Brunswick is our port of entry so I wonder if this is the core of the problem. To the best of my knowledge, K Line will not call at Brunswick so it has to be a WW vessel. I still do not show on their website so now I am really disheartened. There is a huge amount of cars being produced at this moment but shipping seems very disorganized...or maybe there is somethhing we dont know here!

Can all of you just post the name of your dealer, please? I'm curious to see who bought from Global and who bought from MINI South Atlanta, or if perhaps someone got their MINI from somewhere else?

Thanks!

I don't know about the rest, but I live in that corner of Fulton that's just south of Cherokee and just west of Forsyth. It's far enough for me to travel to Global Imports -- I didn't even consider going any further. Maybe I should have?

I would seriously challenge anything more than the 499 doc fee which is bad enough. You do not need to be paying for a tank of gas, mats and some other useless and easily obtainable items. Just my two cents!
