Unfortunately, we all already "signed on the dotted line", so unless we want to begin this whole waiting process once again with a new contract. Something to remember for the future, I guess.

I know it is a pain to have to challenge fees, etc after the car arrives, but there is no harm in giving them a little opposition to these. I didnt realize global made you sign a contract since all I did was fax over a credit card auth form for the $1000. Anyway, I am glad we are on the ship at last though I would hope you guys can leave the dealership paying as little as possible.

Actually, I'm glad I signed a contract because:

1. I need it to get a loan from my CU

2. It's a legal document that shows that the dealer and I both agreed on what the car is/has and how much it will cost.

I'd be a little nervous to just fax over my credit card and hope that there are no surprises when I go to pick up my car! (But we agreed that...)

But yes, I'm REALLY glad that our cars are finally on their way!!

Hi from a former longtime resident of Marietta. I wanted to order a Clubman from Global and they just didn't seem interested. My parents live in Smyrna, I'm over there often, and it would have been nice to visit with them while picking the car up. Global's service dept. has been great, but the sales dept. was disappointing. Anyway, I got a quote from Mini of Nashville and they were $700+ less! Our Clubman is supposed to arrive at Charleston Harbor Oct. 4. Needless to say, we are driving to Nashville for the difference.

I am sure you will have the car by the 10th. If not then something is not right! All the waiting, ranting and frustration is now at an end....lets see some pictures soon!

I just checked the WW website and looks like the car was discharged at 1400 hrs this afternoon. I am assuming everyone is now off the ship and resting on the dock after the long cruise. Even better if some of the cars have left the VDC but I am not holding my breath for that just yet. Any updates from anyone else?

QkSilvr, are Dean and Neil both you're MAs?

I've never met Neil face to face, but spent a good hour on the phone with him recently. He's great -- really knows his stuff. He grew up with MINIs in the UK and bought one as soon as the newer, bigger ones first came to the US. He's still a MINI owner. And the best part is he's very patient with me and my MINI obsession. He GETS it!

msport, the WW site says that my MINI was discharged at 14:00 in Brunswick! Yea! And the OL FINALLY has an updated status on my car!

I can barely wait. If I knew where the VDC was, I'd go there tomorrow to see if I could get a glimpse of Bianca (no, please don't tell me. I might really do it!)

Haha..the VDC is pretty easy to find in Brunswick...a good 300 odd miles away from ATL. I am dying to get a look at my car as well, but I know she will be on the way home so I am being patient. This last stretch is the worst! So close yet so far..
My MA says that they wont know anything more untill thr car actually shows up at the dealership...are you all getting the same story?

Dean is my MA officially, but I seem to "pop in for a visit" on his off days, so I've developed a stronger relationship with Neil. I told him your forum handle & he said he knows who you are

Neil is excited to see my car arrive because mine is the 1st '09 @ the dealership to order the Smartphone prep, which they've heard next to nothing about the details. Guess I'm the guinea pig!

Just couldn't let you outdo me so I "popped in" to Global this morning and met Dean! Actually, it's not really a "pop" -- Global is a 45 minute drive. I called Neil and asked if I could do the paperwork early and he could but he also checked with Rick who said to come in this morning and we could take care of all of it so Neil & I could concentrate on the PDI when I pick her up.

I'm glad I did. I finally met Neil in person. I LOVE Neil!!!!! He's great! He's extremely knowledgeable, patient, laid-back and overall a fabulous salesperson. I know he's got a ton of clients, but he makes me feel like I'm a personal friend.

He took the time to go over all that was included in that Prep fee that popped up earlier on this thread, and I definitely want everything on it, except this security engraving feature which I'm switching out for a more comprehensive security system.

While I was sitting at Neil's desk I saw a tall black man walk towards us and I jumped up and said, "Dean?" You don't know me and I... Uh, well I don't know you either, but you're this guy's MA on NAM." Both Dean & Neil knew who I was talking about and said that you mentioned me when you were in the other day. Funny thing is we only know each other by screen name here, but they (of course) only know our actual names, so Dean said, "Oh yeah, that was (insert your name here)."

All in all I spent about 90 minutes between going over things with Neil and Rick and signing paperwork. Neil's off Monday, but he's promised to keep a close eye on things and call as soon as Bianca's at Global.

Napria did they give you a time frame about when the car would arrive at Global? I am pretty sure that we are riding together or close so this gives me an idea of when I hope to see my long awaited scarlett!

They gave me a timeframe, but cautioned me that it was not set in stone. They're thinking Bianca will be there Wednesday, but then she'll wait in line with all the others (57 others!) to be prepped in the order in which she was, well... ordered! I'm hoping to pick her up Friday. Neil is going to do his best to make that happen.

Good luck with Scarlett! Let me know how it goes!

I sure will! I just checked the OL and it says due at dealer 10/9. Mini south tells me there is a huge backlog to be cleared so it will take a little longer getting the cars prepped. I am hoping Friday but you never know....let us know if anything changes!

The more I drive her, the more I want to drive her!

My husband said to me yesterday, "For $28,000 you could have gotten a really nice car. Are you still glad you got the MINI?" I had him drive her (for the first time) and now he understands. Now he's thinking about getting one too!

You know most people who doubt the MINI have never driven one. Unique character, nimble handling and a great engine make this a truly wonderful car to drive. 2 days since delivery, 150 miles later and I am still smiling What about you all..have you been enjoying driving in the nice weather? I can't wait to take her out of town next weekend for a nice run!

Only 150 miles?

I can't get enough of driving her! I keep looking for places to go and things to do that mean I have to take Bianca!

I've been fairly evenly divided between city and highway driving and my computer is calculating my average mpg as 31.8 -- not too bad, considering my minivan was getting 17 combined.

I'm going to drive her up to Amacalola, probably the weekend after this coming one. Looking forward to (hopefully) nice fall weather, with the sunroof and windows open. Who needs a convertible anyway?!

Hahaha...over 200 now! I am getting 26.5 on average in the city with start stops and a little over-exuberant driving at times 31.8 mixed is pretty good. I am looking forward to some straight highway driving to really see how much I can eek from her. Post a picture of Bianca if you can!

Wish I could figure out how to post a picture directly on to the page! All I seem to be able to do is post a thumbnail. I've got two over on the Pepper White Clubman thread.

I haven't reset my computer and it's now showing 33.8! That's combined!

I filled up yesterday and it cost only $60 (and that's for BP premium!)
