New Mini to be
New Mini to be
Thought I'd drop a howdy to yall. Been lurking til I got the 112 code, figured there really is a Mini in the future. Awesome info on this site, helped narrow down all those options. THANKS.
Ordered 'BRoGey' late July, got some conflicting build data from Ask Mini, so either week 38 or 39 build (they told me 38, but mentioned last full week of Sep, figure that out....). I'll bug em again in a couple days to narrow the build a lil more and wander to the appropriate support group.
Killing me to have to wait til late Oct or early Nov for arrival. ALL that good weather driving missed! Winter road trips here I come!

Thanks for the welcomes.
Still trying to make up my mind on not ordering the sport suspension. After perusing the forums it is obvious that aftermarket is the better way to go, but I'm concerned about the 'laziness' factor that may keep me from acting. Do have a neighbor that is ALWAYS working on cars, so I hope that helps. Planning on putting the M7 brace plates on and hopefully get to the Alta 19mm sway bar, maybe some new springs?
Also not sure about the 17" web spoke wheels that I did order. Given the ditch the run flats is obvious, but I know I won't do it until I wear em out. The web spoke rims at least are the most pleasing to my eye. Can always change em at a later date I guess.
bhelton, stay the course, we'll have our cars in the near future!!!

I know exactly what you mean. The price has been my major hold up on wheels, and the ones you mentioned are more than double the price of the wheels I want. Well... price and the fact that I have 16" wheels already... I just like the (my bad... R90, CROSS spoke, not crown.) cross spokes better. Someday, Viola will get new wheels... someday when I have nothing better to spend 800$ on.
The sad part is, there's always something better to spend 800$ on when you're an electronics geek and have kids.

Welcome to the MINI wait. It will be over before you know it.
You should have some good driving available in late November and December, you just have to head straight South.
We will expect pictures from both of the folks getting new MINIs in November.
Enjoy and drive safe.

Yeap, figured the web spokes were a good middle of the road pick, all in the eye of the beholder. So much to consider, wouldn't mind lowering springs but am very concerned about loss in height with the roads and weather here. Winter coming up, but do figure I can still drive my truck if I see a good amount of snow. The Mini is to be my commuter/fun vehicle, and what fun it should be!
old81, definitely planning a southern trip. At least Moab if not a full southern Utah tour. Been a couple years since i've been down there anywayz. One of the nice things about living here is the diversity of terrain and weather, even in the winter.
