So I'm at the final countdown - my ship the K-Line Sierra Nevada Highway, has docked in Charleston and has been offloading cars for hours. That means that I'm just days away from having my new MINI (I hope)

Pretty soon, all of us wk 41'rs are going to be happily motoring!

when u get a chance, jump on the OL site and review your order and you'll see the "estimated date at dealer" entry may have a date to view, if not today, maybe on Monday or so...

No updates on the OL or the ASKMINI - they both still say "en route" but presuming that my car was on the Sierra Nevada Highway, it should be offloaded by now, so it should be on land and shortly on its way to San Antonio!

 

He's a beauty! Congrats. I'd like to get together with you and SRQJCW soon for some show and tell.

 

I just picked Charlene up a couple hours ago. I'm in love.

It's a rainy day so no photos yet, but as soon as the sun comes out I'll upload a few.

Still no change in the OL or ASKMINI, but I just got a snail mail from MINI: "Rumor has it that there might be a new MINI headed your way. Now's the time to visit the driveway, garage or parking venue of your choosing (as long as it's yours) and stake out a little territory for you and your MINI." Also included was a stencil that says "MINI Parking Only".

Now where's my car, dammit?

The wait is over. Today I visited the MINI dealer and drove my new MCC home.

It has been a Happy MINI Saturday!

Tonight I will be reading the manuals.

I wonder if it's like an automated letter or somethign once your car is 'out of sync', etc....??? either way, pretty cool!...fyi... still no word on mine... If you get a chance, start taking a look (again) on the OL website on expected delivery to dealer and then do what I did adn take a looksy at miniofsa.com at least every day at the NEW CAR inventory and see if your car pops up on the site...... something to do while u wait!

Frederico: congrats on your car and looks great!..looknig forward to inside pix, etc... please let us know what u like, surprised by?, don't like.....etc..

edjd - thanks for the suggestions, but rest assured that I've been checking the OL, the ASKMINI and MINIofSA's new car listings several times a day while patiently awaiting my car's delivery

I'm surprised that you haven't taken delivery yet! When was it supposedly offloaded from the ship at the VDC? Mine was supposedly offloaded yesterday. Rob claims that it could be as short as 3 days, but averages nearly 10 to SA.

so, haven't heard diddly squat from dealer..... the car popped up as delivery for 11/7 on OL and also popped up on dealer 'new' inventory on website....

sooooooo,today, we happened to be in S.A. area and asked the wife if we could stop by the dealer and take a looksy to see if my car was physically there... walked the main lot....nothing...... as we drive down the road, there is an 'overflow' lot just a bit down from dealer w/ MINI's and Bimmers and in the back row were more MINI's lined up and I knew mine was one of them as soon as I saw it!!..really weird to know it when u see it...

so, there it is, parked (real dusty of course )....w/ s.stripes, etc...... Anthracite Headliner is on it also...(for those not aware, there were a few build weeks that alot of MINI's didn't get the Anthracite Headliner installed as requested)....the rear fog is on it , etc.... my ALL season tires are on it...I believe if it has continental tires, those are the all season??anyone??.. I mean I asked for all season tires, so how do i know the difference betwwen all season and performance????... anyways, I feel they are the right tires, so overall, it looks good and all looks ready to go... I won't tint the windows w/ dealer (ceramic tint...Pinnacle...will do that somewhere else....)...

I'd like to turn in my darn rental car by tuesday (reservatino is up that day and already $300 into rental....)............uugghh......

guess' I'll email/call first thing in teh mrng and lay it down..."look,i need my car so I can get rid of rental"..."else, I"m buying a Chevy Cobalt!"....

u think that will force the dealer to tell me my car is ready for pickup?......

edjd - best of luck and I totally know what you mean. I have nothing against any of the great folks at Mini of Sa, but when I bought my first car there, Suzy, my MA, called ME to tell me what was up. I never had to pester her because she was on top of it. Now, I feel like I know more than they do, but then again, we are a rather rabid bunch of impatient people

 

BTW, it's been really quiet in here lately. Guess most everyone in our build week has accepted delivery and stopped visiting our "support group" forum . Maybe one day soon I'll join the "delivered" club and move on as well....

 

Still waiting on mine as well, in Phoenix...OL showed "estimated at dealer" date of 11/9, then 11/8, but still no word. Dealer says "any day now..."...you'd think they'd have that trucking/tracking process pretty nailed down by now?

There's people in Portland who have already rec'd theirs, so not sure what the holdup has been, though once we have it, I'm sure all will be forgotten.

same thing on mine, originally scheduled to be at dealer on 11/8, them 'moved' a day up to 11/7......in retrospect, I feel pretty comfortable that that date(s) is 'right on'....

I think it's eerily quiet....u know, the calm before the storm.......... most cars are in transit from vdc (as your is for example), at dealer ... I would hope and expect quite a few 'hits' this week from folks jumping in w/ good news and satisfying results....and then jumping ot other forums, etc..

just a 'holding' pattern right now for all I'm sure...

 

Just got word from Sean (sales manager at MINI of SA) that my car was offloaded and is scheduled to be released to the carrier (truck) tomorrow. If all goes well, it could be here by the weekend. If not, then very early next week. The wait is almost over!

your car should be at dealer on Friday...again, the OL should be updated to reflect the expected date at dealer.......so by This weekend, you should physically see your car at dealer or 'overflow' lot...

I emailed rob this mrng....asking if I can buy car today/tomorrow.....no response yet....... should I email this sean guy??....ur thoughts..

I wonder how much time is required between a car arriving at the dealer and being ready for delivery to the customer. I would think that it could be sold same day provided there's nothing wrong with the car. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to have a chat with Sean. His e-mail is up on the "contact" section of the MINI of SA page. Feel free to pm me if you can't find it.

BTW, the OL and ASKMINI still report my car as "En Route" so there is still a significant delay in the status info. I wouldn't be surprised if it finally moves to "At the Dealer" days after I already have it in my hands!

yup.. the OL moved to 'at dealer' TODAY...when best case (it was at dealer last week on Friday or worst case got there this past Saturday).....

You're not alone, still waiting on mine. Scheduled to pickup this Friday 11/14. Funny though, I have a test Friday am before the pickup and since I'm not prepared for the test I'm not as anxious for Friday to come as I would be otherwise, guess that helps.

 

Best of luck to us both, then! I don't even have a pickup date yet... in fact, the OL and ASKMINI still say that I'm on the water "en route" but I know for a fact that i'm at the VDC.
