Picking my MCS up today

Hey NAM, I've been lurking here for a while, but never wanted to post about or track my MINI because I was excited enough already! I ordered a dark silver/black roof and mirrors 2008 MCS with 6spd, convenience package, and rear fog lights. I ordered it on 7/13 from MINI of Universal City (Tim is very knowledgeble on MINI's since he drives one himself, and doesn't give you the typical salesman BS). I checked 8/25 and it said estimated delivery on 8/24 (under 1.5 months!), but it really came 8/27.

I am very excited, moving from a V6 AT Tundra. Now, how hard is keeping the revs under 4k for the 1200 mile break in period?

And yes, of course there will be pics.

Very hard.

Don't have too much fun tearing up the pavement.... and by Gray I assume you mean Dark Silver? The other silver does not come from the factory with a white roof.

Yes! Pics as soon as you can!

Welcome to NAM and happy motoring!

Sorry RandomGemini, I quickly posted this before going to the dealer and did not proofread it. I was so excited that I accidently said it had a white roof and mirrors. It is dark silver with black roof/mirrors.

Sorry for no pics, I was so excited driving it I did not have time for them. Tomorrow, then, if I can pry myself off the wheel and shifter.

Wow, this car has so much power, even under the recommended 4500 rpm maximum for the break-in peroid.

I will post a new thread with pics/dealer pickup description.

I picked up my MCS yesterday, and YES it's very hard to keep it under 4500rpm. Cant wait untill I can use more motor, but still it runs exceptionally well even at lower rpm's.......................OK gotta go ....somewhere

It's all good my friend. I'm just trying to create a mental image of your car because you haven't posted pics yet!

Looking forward to them!
