I think they can be installed at the dealer but are typically a factory build option. It's stressful isn't it...exciting, nerve-wrecking, exciting... I'm all for the webcam assigned to each vin/production number. I'd take the week off work to see my baby going down the line! Great idea.

 

Oh yea webcam now that would be an internet addiction. Shoot I would be watching it at work. And dang Vivi you werent kidding when you said you pack light. I dont usually spend time driving I want to get there now. I used to drive from Denver to northern Utah to go Snowmobiling on the weekends. Maybe my mindset for a road trip will change though now that Ill have a car that wants to make pitstops everywhere to check out the scenery.

OK now that we are starting to get VINs, let's start speculating on what ship we could be on. Ideally since my car should be done on the 18th, I am really crossing my fingers it gets on the 'Undine' scheduled to leave Southampton on the 23rd. that would put it in port on Oct. 7th and hopefully in my arms by the 13th or 14th of Oct. Of course this is providing it makes a W&W ship.

p.s. my MA still has yet to call or email about my car going into production. oh well.

 

OK I also think I could make the Patriot leaving on the 20th. BlueMeanie on another thread got on a boat the day after his completion date, but that could have been dumb luck!

Yea my MA only called me back last week to tell me i was in week 38 and i called on friday and he still hasnt called me. Guess its hard to find someone that actually cares about the customer.

And i want to know where youre getting all the boat info and stuff too im with DooBahDoo need the next thing to obsess about.

I called the CrackLine but all they could tell me was "In Production" but nothing else. If my MA was correct, I started production yesterday and should be finished by the 18th or 19th. What should put me on the Undine or if really lucky the the Patroit. I still have 4 days in Charleston for the aero kit install which should put it in my garage around Oct 15.

 

Bruce, I would check your order sheet and find out what port it is landing in, that will be give an idea. port codes are also in the tracking thread.

 

My productivity is SO down the tubes. I can't help it. I'm just glad to see there are others that are excited/borderline obsessing over their MINI. I've been lost since my wreck.

 

cool, i just talked to my MA and he said that it will be coming into CA. But it doesnt start production til the 20th. Bah. He also said that he knew a couple that was soooo into it that they actually had pictures of the vessel carrying their car thought the Panama Canal. Now if i could just figure out how to do that.

 

I think my boss will be happy when we pickup the car. I have been getting paid lately to obsess over the clubman.

A kindred soul! I'm in my office with my personal e-mail, NAM, and MOL open in three tabs and minimize them all only to see the picture of my Clubman that's on my desktop once in a while.

 

are you are my desk DooBahDoo? haha that is exactly what I have fallen prey to! I even went as far as to add the ship schedule to the top of the photo of my car on my desktop. I have never felt more nerdy in all my life...

 

Get out! Maybe we were separated at birth...I've got all the goodies on my desktop too! I'm a big car buff...have had over 40 cars in my lifetime, bought, sold, collected, but NEVER have I had the giddy, goober, nerdy excitement that I have over my MINI.

 

This will only be my 7th car lifetime, but the first I've bought brand new and I couldn't be happier! I am not even a huge car buff either, but owning a 1970 MGB I think is what got me excited for the mini, a lot of my dad's friends in his british car club have them as their daily drivers. I don't have the MG anymore, so I am buying the mini cooper to 'fit in' again.
