I just got off the phone with ASK MINI and learned that I'm scheduled for Week 34 production. I'm slightly bummed because initially I thought I was in week 32, then week 33...but now I have full confirmation I'm in week 34, so I'm happy to be looking forward to the week of August 18.

Anyone else out there in week 34?

SYL, you may want to call ASK-MINI again, speak to a person, and reconfirm that week. I could be very wrong on this, but the impression around here has been that Weeks 34 and 35 are vacation time for the Oxford plant. That's why there's no Week 35 thread (that I've seen, anyway), and the previous Week 34 thread only got a couple of responses in late June/early July; one of those posters ended up with the new model year folks in Week 36. Perhaps if you post to the other Week 34 thread you'll get an explanation, or find comrades:

+1 on the previous. except for JCW and a few 2008 leftovers, there's very little being produced beyond week 33. The factory doesnt shut down during 33, 34, and 35, it just curtails production to retool for the first week of 2009 production (36), to give annual vacations, and to perform annual mtce to the assembly lines. I would bet yr car will be built during week 33, because most of the 11th hour laggards from 2008 MY are MCs.

 

I just got off the phone with ASK MINI, and they confirmed that there is a week 34 production and there is essentially no shutdown this year as there isn't much changing production line-wise for 2009. So I'm confirmed for the week of 8/17 as of right now. This week better stick because I was initially in week 32, then week 33...this better not be a trend!
