Quote: So what's everyone doing for financing? I've been interested in using PenFed and taking advantage of their 4.75% rate, but I keep seeing complaints both about service, and clarity with their product. Anyone going with MINI (BMW) financing? I would be happy with something in the low 5's, but it doesn't sound like they will be getting that low...

Just for reference, I'm in So Cal looking at a 60 month 80+% loan...

Cheers!
I'm in San Diego county and am going with Pacific Marine Credit Union (http://pmcu.com) 3.5% for 36 months. Steep payment, but paid for in three years.

So today I said goodbye to Mini #2. Then I came home and washed the new one with Mystique. Even though the dealer applied a coat of wax, I put another one of Epic car polish on top, including the wheels. Wow! I am ready to roll. It's fun to hear all of the good news on this thread.

I financed thru Penfed at 4.5%. I had to lock in before the end of August though. Heck, I made my first car payment before I even had the car.

Crazy! How was the process for you? I've been thinking about using them (at 4.75% now), but I've heard mixed reviews about them... Were there any additional fees, or did you just sign up and they sent you a check?

Home at last!
Here he is! I was so thrilled upon seeing him, it was all I could do to keep from jumping up and down and squealing like a teenybopper. Okay, I hopped a bit and made little squeaking noises. He will have to go back in a couple of weeks because, grrrr, the factory screwed up and left out the anthracite headliner. It was on the original order and in the OL, so it's not the fault of anyone locally. Of course it'll be redone at no cost to me. But the rest I love!! I'll have it tinted when the headliner is replaced.

I really love the rooster red/piano black. It'll be even better once the anthracite headliner comes in!

Oh, and he is a blast on the road. After all I heard about the bumpy ride, it's no worse my ex-SUV. Can't wait to show him off at work tomorrow. It's going to be a fun weekend!

Added 10/3: Apparently there is a rash of missing anthracite headliners, as reported in this thread. MINI thought the 30 affected cars were all on the East Coast -- guess not!

I had no problem at all with Penfed. Of course, I screwed up the online form. but a quick call to them and it was straightened out with no problem. They sent me a check made out to myself and the dealer. All in all, it's been great. I have all the info I need thru there website, and with banking online it's almost a no-brainer.

Nice call on PenFed. I just requested a loan from them. I had planned to go through CapitalOne at 5.62%. Saved me about $700.

Now if my dealer would just call and confirm that they have the car and setup a time for me to go over an pick it up... I'm so tired of looking at the picture, I want to see the car.

Congrats all! More pictures please! I'm picking up my baby on Tuesday (I know, I know... how can it be so long??) but I'm curious, have any of you noticed any differences between the 2008 you test drove so long ago, and the 2009 you're driving?!!
Thanks,
Soon to be motoring Clubman owner!

Here's my new MINI, picked up yesterday and driven home 200 miles (all freeway) from Mentor, OH. The paint color (lighning blue metallic) is really impressive and I'm already in love.

The Bluetooth and iPod functionalities are so amazing and again...I'm in love.

As far as a name is concerned...I wanted to name it Cookie Monster last night after a few drinks ("C is for Cooper. That's good enough for me!") but am thinking twice about it. The name will come to me, I think, after some more time with my new baby.

The pics aren't the best, but it'll give you the basic idea.

Calling all 2009 owners
Please look in the back of your boot and post what tools you received.

Here's mine -- seems to be missing a lot of stuff (like a jack and lug wrench):

Yep. Mine is exactly like that.... Their reason being that with run flats, you won't need the tools..

Ok, I just knew from other R56 threads (via search) that some of the R56 MCS with run flats were getting jacks. Less weight this way

Same here! The reason given from my MA is exactly the same with most that with run flats, we don't need the tools.

I would love to know the answer to max's even though I don't have comfort access. Anybody?

I've had mine from a week as of this evening, and I love it. I'm going to take some pictures as soon as I recharge my camera battery.

I took it back to the dealer on Tuesday to get the Invisishield added, they hadn't added it when I pick it up. all in all, not bad, because they gave me a loaner the day they had it. Oh yeah, also I originally had the wrong rims, which they also corrected on Tuesday.

I'm working on relearning how to drive a turbo car and learning how to take corners with this car. I'm used to feeling my back side whip around corners and judging my cornering speed based on the feel of my backside. With the MINI, there is no backside!

I washed her and added a coat of turtle wax yesterday. Do you think they waxed her at mini of the main line (dealership)?

On Friday, I snuck out at lunch from work and drove around the suburban roads for 45 minutes. I might do it again today...

Yay for Invisishield! Yay for waxing! Yay for protecting the paint job!

Hey aafflyer,

I asked the exact same question here https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=155547

Looks like it's 2009 MCS's, wonder if 2009 JCW is also missing the tools.

Hey Maximus96-

Did you also get the navigation? We had some issues when I requested to have help programming the keys. If you have the navi there are some seperate setting under setup and that is where I saw to change the options of the flasking lights with lock unlock. My MA said that the setting are split between either on the end of the turn signal lever or through the setup on the main menu if you recieved the navigation.

Hope this helps.

First flat not a happy camper! Well I guess i was lucky that the flat was on the rear. Dont see how you can drive with a front flat and no way to change it without the jack ! Driving on a runflat is not the same as driving on a undersize spare and even then they recommend putting it on the rear! Car pulls severly over 50mph try driving that on a highway thease days! Wnat are you suposed to do after hrs 95+ miles with a flat!

Week 36 Clubman delivery
Any other week 36ers having problem with delivery of their Clubman?
My clubman was produced on 9/1, shipped on 9/6, arrived at the Charleston SC VDC on 9/19 and apparently is still there. I am getting some explanation about a delay releasing the 2009 Clubman due to EPA testing.

Through the various posts I know most of you have picked up your babies.
The only thing I can think of is that there was damage they are repairing.
No further info from my MA.

Anyone else experiencing delays like this?
