Hey shelby, I was told last week that Aug 8th would work as far as picking up my car goes. I will call again today to confirm with my MA Sara and see if my car is there or not, oh please i hope it is. The owners lounge says at the dealership so we'll see.

JohnOcon32,
The OL on the website says mine car was an estimated delivery of 8/2. Called Jarid my MA and he said that he has no idea where the car is-therefore must be on some truck...He is off today so I will get no news today. My mini is Chili Red with black roof and black bonnet stripes with black leather sport seats. If you see it let me know and congrats on yours!

Congrats, I almost got the yellow color. You are not the last to post. I have not gotten mine yet. Suppose to pick it up this Thursday. I think mine was on the last truck from California to Portland.

Have fun!

Astro's 1st Car Wash

Everyone - All your MINI's look great! SC - I have to say once again... nice wheels and nice lights!

By the way, take a look at my gallery as Astro has been washed after 10 days and 450 miles, despite having a sprained thoracic muscle (ouch!). Not making any modifications and quite pleased with Astro as is.

Can't wait for 1,200 miles...

Speaking of first car wash....I decided to wash Maxx for the first time yesterday and I bought (for the first time ever) the following two things:

A 2 gallon garden sprayer from Home Depot, and 2 gallons of distilled water. I washed the car normally, using micro-fiber towels and the garden hose. I towel dried the car and left it semi-wet. Then I sprayed it with the distilled water, about a gallon of water used, and then towel dried again using micro-fiber towels. Maxx looks PERFECT......I think the distilled water rinses off our cruddy SoCal water beautifully. It only takes a bucks worth of water to do this so I say it's a cheap way to get a great shine.

Thanx! Definitely worth the wait.

Installed the Alta stubby antenna, and Whalen shift ****. Eibach springs are on order. Still can't make up my mind on which wheels to get.

In two weeks I will be in India...a really really poor part of India....and I think that countrywide only 20 people per 1000 own a car. Think about that and the wait isn't so terrible. And red is probably the best color to wait for!

Remember, in India, it will probably be quite a status symbol to have a Tata Nano that is just being introduced over there (the $2,500 People's Car). It would be just like an American having a MINI, but probably even more elite in India.

Shelby, hang in there... the time is worth it!

Exactly! I have wanted a Mini since they first came to the US, in 2000 ( I think ) so a few more days is really nothing. I looked at your website and it looks like you try to do alot of really good things for other people, that is great. Have a safe trip.

Thanks JKC. I ducked out on vacation for a few days. It was torture to pick up the Mini and garage it for 6 days while I went on vacation. Car is great. I agree on the tires, not the best. I'm hoping to get tint next week (the black leather gets hot quickly).

sshelby, is your wait over? I can't believe it has taken this long. I hope your motoring soon.

SC Mini,
Nope still waiting. I am suppose to pick up Thursday the 14th at 2:00pm. Then like you I leave Friday for 10 days. So I hope I can drive it for a bit on Thursday! The mini's got to the VDC on the 26th of July, that puts mine at 19 days from the VDC to me-that seems like a longer wait than the whole boat ride over!!!
I will post photos after my vacation

I finally had a chance to take a better picture. I had the windows tinted and just gave it a quick wash. I'm in love with this car. Too bad they don't tell you you'll get great gas mileage, but it will be offset by the fact that you drive a lot more. I seem to be taking the "long way" every chance I get.

sshelby, I'm still thinking of you. Have you picked your up yet?

SC Mini--I did finally get to pick her up on Thursday at 2:00. I got to drive it that evening and Friday we left on vacation for 10 days with out the mini--great to go on vacation but a bummer to leave my brand new mini!! I will post pictures of her the last week of August. Your car looks great. Mine is also red, with black stripes and chrome mirrors. Very fun! My kids love it. They are fighting over who gets the front seat!

Enjoy everyone

Nice SC. I just happened to catch Astro in another character pose parked outside my home... the 2 canines (Dino and the MINI dog) were conveniently added to the scene....
