Now Astro and everyone else's Mini's are going right through the Bahamas... They are too young to see nude sun bathers!

One more thing before they start working on the cable for the whole day until 2300 tonight. The Undine is due at the Panama Canal at 0200 on 7/15/08.

Anybody tacking the Undine notice that weird zig zag it made yesterday? I think it was a data blip and not the actual track...

yeah i noticed that too, don't know why that happened. But as it looks right now, the Undine will be coming in a day late to Galveston as it is still at least 500 nautical miles and at its swiftest pace it was covering roughly 480 miles a day, and they were due to come in sometime today. So lets hope we can get out of Port early and still hit the canal next by Tuesday.

Hopefully this doesn't mean it will be late. My MA sent me an email when my Mini was loaded, and said that the ship would be arriving at Port Hueneme on 7/26. I figured he must have just been mistaken since the WW manifest and the Port Hueneme vessel schedule both said 7/23. Maybe he knows something we don't?

FWIW, sometimes these ships get to the canal early for their reservation....they can sit of the east coast of Panama for a whole day waiting their turn......so maybe Undine will make it just in time and make up the delay??? A few days of delay won't bother me much....

WW schedule has been updated: Undine reaches Galveston one day later on the 12th and hits the canal on the 17th....but the arrival date into CA is still the 23rd (Probably at 11:59pm)

Thank You Markus. That saves me time today checking Galveston. I am in slo-mo anyway. I am making a really cool presentation with iWork for Roger to put away with his paperwork. I guess I need to do some updating.

Going back to that small blip off Florida. I think that may have been due to some storm activity that was generated from Bertha and the Undine had decided to take smoother water closer to Florida instead (I don't think the captain fell asleep and it is not an error because of distance logic). As often is the case, the weather is volatile in the ocean and it is all too common to have vessels delayed by a day due to weather, such as typhoons from the Orient. Just glad that we are still scheduled for the 23rd; however, I am guessing our cars will not be on land until sometime on the 24th. The dealer now says it will only take 3 or 4 days from there because I asked him again after being told 10 to 15 days, he didn't want me to get rid of my current car too early, but I am not getting rid of it... Therefore, we'll all probably be behind the steering wheel prior to month's end! YAHOO!

The panama canal has a customer priority list you can view on their website. I guess it determines how they prioritize who goes through if there is a wait. Wilhelmsen is listed as #12. Interesting I guess.

This Galveston web cam updates more frequently than the port site. It says that it shows the cruise ships but the cargo ships must go by also. Because of the inability to get up to date tracking, I am watching this site also. I am not sure if the Undine has already come and gone but I am guessing that She has not arrived yet. I have been checking in on and off all day.

It should have arrived around 3 or 4 hours ago as an estimate from viewing the plotted dots and timing. I believe it is dedicated Pier 34 for WW. Maybe the webcam is not showing the entire angle... just being hopeful and whatever is being loaded/unloaded has already been done.

AHA! My estimate was correct... must have clairvoyance. I think the webcam may catch it when the ship leaves.

This vessel voyage is definitely taking forever - should have settled on the East Coast instead and would have been driving out of the MINI dealership today!

Well, cocktail hour is over. I have been busy. Did you see the Undine pass by on the Galveston web cam? Are we on our way?

Is Manzanillo in Panama or Mexico? It appears to be in both places. Does the ship go through the Panama Canal and then stop in Manzanillo or is the Panama Canal counted as Manzanillo? It appears that it is scheduled for the Panama Canal 7/16/08 @ 0700 and Manzanillo on 7/17/08. I know that there has been inconstancies in the dates before and this is from two different sources. Go figure. Cathie

It's in Panama on the Atlantic side of the canal:

WW site has the passage on the 17th of July...IIRC it takes about 9 hours to get through the canal.
