I am confused. A few days ago Ask Mini told me as did my MA that my car would be built in week 27. I called today to see if they had a firm date and they told me my car should start production this week. However, they did not have the exact scheduled date. He said the next 3 or 4 days. Is it normal that the date jumps around? If it actually starts production this week is that week 25 or week 26? Do they give out bad data?

 

Yes the production window does jump around. If you are week 27 then your build should begin between 30 June and 6 July. However, MINI has flexed the production line, pulling certain cars forward, pushing others back.

Who is the "he" in your post? Your MA, ASK-MINI? Robovoice?

Re: bad data - once the process begins, your would think that they built them on an assembly line or something. We stayed in kitting for production for almost a week, before being told that we would be built the NEXT week, only to be started two days later. From the impact of the Spanish truckers strike, it is safe to say that MINI is a very just-in-time operation.

BDHender - I'm scheduled for week 26 (supposed to have a completion date of 6/24) and I'm in DFW as well -- Keller, to be exact. I have a PW Clubman ordered as well. Maybe I'll see you around!

Actually, my MA is Jarrod. Nice guy, but he went on vacation the day after my test drive. Philip helped me for a while, then Jill took my order. I really like Philip - he is very responsive.

Ordered on 6/12. Started production 6/16. Estimated completion 6/24. Do you have any info on which port yours will arrive through? I'm assuming Charleston, but haven't had that confirmed yet.
