Lurker Finally Joining

Well, that's what one of the veterans called me Yeah, I've been reading NAM since I bought the car, and am familiar with a lot of the personalities around here. Thought I'd finally join and throw my two cents in. Well here's the skinny;

05 Jet Black Convertible, yes they only made that combo one year and it is the best And the mod list. There's probably a few dozen more but things like wheel studs and wind blockers don't make the primary list.

Guess that cut and paste didn't work too well above. I'll learn eventually.

I have been a "lurker" for awhile as well and just joined this week. It seems like a great supportive place for MINI- hearters

Me- alas, no MINI yet :(

I'm working on it Currently looking. Sounds like Motor City Mini (only dealer in MI) stinks though (they have been brats on the phone so far) and that means anything else will be 3-4 hours away :(

Mini's have been selling so well I'm not sure if you can still get the deal, but I know a number of the Dealers were offering free shipping nationwide a while ago. Mini of the Hamptons maybe. I wish I had done that with mine, instead I thought I'd get better service down the road if I bought it where I would get it serviced. Definitely not the case in my area and I was stupid enough to pay the markup too.

Thanks for the tip Big Howe! I'll have to look into the free shipping deal. So that means you would do everything on-line and over the phone??? I would be a bit nervous about not having "your" dealership available (close to you) for service as well but really, Motor City seems to suck. I emailed them yesterday c. 2 PM and they still haven't responded. I am not going to spend my time and money somewhere that it's not appreciated!

Well if you are going to get poor service after the sale from your local dealer, you might as well get a good deal and good service when you buy it, even if have to get it shipped in. If you were to order a car, its not like you get to take for a drive to think about it. It shows up and you either buy it or walk away. You could have the shipping dealer send pictures and such. I don't see it being that different. But you have to do whatvyou are comfortable with. Good luck.

I had less then quality service from my dealer... and no deals at all, not on shipping, MSRP, extras, nothing..... we even told them we were going to go to another dealer, and they wouldn't sell the car at all..... but the next closest dealer is 6 hours out....and they weren't offering anything either...So we stayed in town

My dealer wouldn't even let me submit my online build to them, they wanted to do it all in person at the dealership, (after they kept trying to force a inventory lot car on me...) not looking forward to future dealings with them, and we plan to be installing many after market accessories---

----oh honey dearest..... (good thing he is car guy )

spidrz- who said you have to go back to them? Maybe a summer road trip ala MINI is in order to go to a GOOD dealership. Where did you get yours from?

Sandia MINI in Albuquerque. I don't plan to have many dealings with them if I can help it! Luckily my brother lives in Las Vegas... Road trip! 8 hours out... but I generally go there every year anyway! Unlike the next closest one, Denver, at 6 hours.......
