OK, since the week 23 group seems to be going strong, I thought it might be time to find the week 22 group. There isn't one yet, so here I go, since I got confirmation today that we're scheduled.
I'm on my way to joining the MINI fold with a LIB/B MCS on order with cloth/leather blue, blue colorline, premium, cold, conv, nav, etc. It will be my daily driver on a 70 mi roundtrip. I'm looking forward to a fun ride AND better mileage. Have to work on a signature, though.

Any other week 22's out there?

 

Just found out that I'm week 22. Woo hoo! Two of us!

Wow.. You ordered yours 10 days after I did... You must have a lot more clout that my dealer does in Chicagoland

 

After speaking with Ask MINI, I was told week 22 or week 21. Can't wait!!

 

Critical mass is building... our MINIs are getting closer to reality

 

When did you order yours?

I assume the week will vary with the dealer / location and I shouldn't be upset if mine is taking longer, right ?

 

Funny you should mention that- I was getting paranoid seeing all these people in other groups getting their cars in production within days of ordering. Maybe people like us don't like to admit that we had to wait

 

I just hung up with "ASK MINI" and they told me I'm in for week 20, ordered on 5/9/08 and it will be done on 5/15/08. So is there a week 20 group out there?

Well, when the Week 20 people are having their celebration, we'll know ours is right around the corner! I am a "Week 22" - our official order went in April 19th.

If one more co-worker stops by my office and asks me; "so, did you get your MINI yet?", I'm going to have plead justifiable homicide.

One comforting thought - one of my co-workers went to a local dealer to inquire about a Smart Car; they told him the wait is ~1 year.... yow.

 

I got sports pkg, premium, cold weather, lounge redwood interior, xenon, hd and satellite radio, dst, lsd, usb iPod adapter, mtf leather steering wheel, center arm rest, rear fog light, bonnet stripes and something else I'm missing. It was ordered at brecth mini in Escondido south CA.

 

Great to have you in our little group, gotmoxie. What sort of MINI are you anxiously awaiting?

(A year for the Smartcar! That's what happens when you let people reserve them for $99, I guess.)

That makes things make more sense. My guess is that there's a bigger Clubman backlog since there are so few on the lots. Thanks!

Nah, but I'm not concerned. The ASK-MINI folks and my MA both confirmed my status today, and the VIN doesn't get created until you start production.

Oh, and I don't think it makes a difference regarding Clubman, MC, MCS in terms of how the factory works. Each dealership gets an allocated # of slots, and they can be used for any model (factory doesn't do a run of Coopers, then S's, etc.- they pride themselves on being able to build custom vehicles one after the other). So, sometimes you luck into a dealer with a slot available tomorrow, and other times you wait like us

 

It's going to be highly exciting when we start seeing "In Production" in the Owner's Lounge Tracking area!!

The MINI I am waiting for is a Sparkling Silver Clubman S, with a black roof, black bonnet stripes, and checkered mirror caps; LSD, xenon lights, cold pkg,/conv pkg, all-weather tires, bridge spoke wheels. I'm still making my mind up about two dealer-installed options; the JCW shift indicator lights, and the Clubman spoiler.

Yeah, I think the $99 Smartcar deposit has plenty to do with that backlog!!

 

It's been quiet here for a couple of days, but it looks like the week 21 folks have their cars in production. We should be starting soon!

Just wanted to say hello. I just talked to ASK MINI and was told that I am scheduled to start production on May 25 and that I was week 22. So hello fellow week 22'ers! I ordered a Chili Red Cooper S with LSD, 6 sp manual, and sunroof. And that is about it. Oh yeah, I did splurge on the white turn signals. Looking forward to the motoring experience! And to hearing, and reading about modifications other owners have done... ie thicker sway bars, lowering springs, engine mods, etc...

 

I ordered 4/19, from New Country Mini in Hartford, CT. Apparently, they've been selling all their allocations. Darn! I'll have to rent a car for a while before mine comes in, because the lease goes back on 6/9.
