Week 18 support group

Well, I was originally slated for week 19, but got bumped up. I don't see an "official" support group thread for 18 yet, so here it is.

My wife and I have an AB MCSa being built right now, and slated to complete on May 8th.

Can't wait to actually drive it! I've never ordered a car before, but this is more torturous than I would have imagined.

Hopefully we get a fast ship.

cheers,

Verax

What week am I?

OK... So my Clubman was "in production" as of Monday 4/28 (which is Week 18) but projected to be completed on May 6th (which is Week 19). So which one am I?

good question. Maybe I'm still week 19 then. I started being built 4/28 scheduled for completion 5/8. I just assumed that was 18. I never have been able to find a definitive answer to the "what week am I" question.

congrats on the Clubman!

I too am confused about what week mine is. Production started on the 28th and they say it will be completed on the 7th of may. I think we are in the right place. I believe the start date is the production "week" that we fall into.

Boy is this tough! I can't wait until my car actually is here!

yeah, I am having a really hard time with the wait. I actually ordered a couple Mini books from amazon the other day to keep me mini-occupied over the next few weeks.

Not true. The ship schedules are set literally months in advance. The bigger problem is if the ship is full, you might get bumped. I'm over in week 17 and we've been tracking ships pretty thoroughly. If you're going to NY, then a ship left today (the Patriot). There's another ship (can't remember name) leaving on the 9th that might be going to NY. Tomorrow (5/4) there's a ship (the Caribean Highway) headed straight to SC. That's the one I think I'm on but since Caribean Highway is a KLine ship, we can't verify via the web.

I ordered from Eastbay Mini in Pleasanton. Paul my M.A. was so cool and I would recommend him to anyone in the Bay Area.

miniusa update

How long before the miniusa.com will update production, and transport? Will it give me a link to where I can track my car across the pond?

Should I go to this site of keep calling ASK-MINI and talk to a real person. What have you found ?

Ours too. Should be complete tomorrow. Hope it makes that boat leaving on the 9th! Should only be 2-3 hours on the train from Oxford to Southampton.

Best advice for tracking is the track your MINI sticky, https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=70301

As I've discovered, just because your MINI gets to the port before a ship sails out, you might not be on that ship. I've been completed, and waiting at port since 5/2 and still don't have my shipping orders. From what I've been explained, once your MINI makes it to port, your shipping information will only come from your MA. (They stop sending the info to ASK-MINI, and start sending it to your MINI dealer)

There seem to be only a couple of us from week 17 who haven't sailed yet. Hopefully it's soon though!

By spending too much company time on the web . MINI uses two companies (mostly) to ship to the US. W&W and KLines. The 'Track Your MINI' thread pointed out by ahfs1 will get you info on how to find your VIN and track. W&W is good because their web site allows you to find out what ship you are on. Also their ships tend to report into sailwx more often so you can track across the ocean as well. KLines (google KLine shipping) schedules can be found on thier web site. The Kline schedule is a little difficult to understand but eventually I figured it out. Also check the ports of call. The ports often have expected arrival & departure schedules.

Well... Mr. Bellamy (you may call him just Bellamy) was born yesterday, and is safely tucked away on the Mignon. The ship makes a stop at the port of Baltimore, so I am assuming that that's where he'll disembark. (Unless everyone gets off in New York to go through the Distribution Center . . . I don't know.)

Anyone's car traveling with mine?

Just based upon what Mysticturner said - I don't know what boat for sure. Wishful thinking!

Well, I'm hoping as well. When I put my VIN into the WW site, it doesn't pull up yet. Hopefully it'll be updated tomorrow.
