Still in the paint shop... My Clubman is supposed to be completed today but I guess ASK-MINI isn't up to date yet. AHHHHHH!!!! This has been the longest 2 months ever!!!!
Hey I would like to take a tour of the Oxford plant, but I have a gut feeling our minis are sick of that place and want to venture on to a new place, possibly a nice cozy garage in the US.

ClubDal, I spoke to a representative last night and they said that it was still in the shop and is scheduled for completion today. The girl that I spoke with gave me little information but when a during a previous call, a man gave a lot of specifics. I guess I will try in the morning. I call so many times, it would be funny if I got the same representative twice (they would think I'm a little weird
) That would be awesome if the completion date was right on and my Clubman is waiting to explore the seas.

Ways to make time pass
- Travel from pub to pub and liquor yourself up into a stupor. Repeat. Possible side effects: Liver damage and loss of job. Also leads to inability to pay for your new MINI.
- Find the nearest trailer park and hope to be abducted by aliens. You mysteriously lose a week of time while being "tested". Possible side effects: After you're returned, you randomly shout obsceneties when you run the microwave or, a tornado hits instead and you end up stuck in the hospital.
- Find a mountain pass and bury yourself in an attempt to acheive suspended animation. Find a reliable friend to thaw you out when the day comes. Possible side effects: Your friend can't find you and you wake up 500 years later and are involved in a holy war involving sentient sea otters.
- Hang out at NAM. Possible side effects: You obsess yourself into insanity waiting for your new MINI

I'm am little worried about our MINIs though. Look what I found in the Southampton paper, The Daily Echo
Man seriously injured after accident
By Clare Kennedy
A MALE driver was taken by air ambulance to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries following a two car accident in Fair Oak this afternoon.
He was driving a green Honda Civic when he was in collision with a grey Ford Fusion on Allington Lane at 3pm.
The two occupants of the Ford Fusion stated that the accident was caused when they swerved to avoid a group of Mini Coopers racing out from a car park next to a pub. Several witnesses stated that they were unable to see any of the drivers of the Mini group.

Police closed off a section of the road for several hours after the accident and diversions were put in place.
They are appealing for the drivers of the Mini's to come forward and turn themselves in.
Police are working with the Port Authority to determine if any Mini's were taken from the shipping yard, possibly by teenagers for a joyride. Port Authorities say joyriding incidents have occured before.
In a possibly related incident, a night watchman found a new Rolls Royce that was awaiting shipment had been pushed off the docks and into the harbor near the automobile transfer facility on Empress road.
Anyone with information should contact Totton Road Policing Unit on 0800 555 111 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Arrg. No info on what ship yet. No phone call from my MA yesterday, but did get an email. No news yet as to what ship. But the bad news is that Jorge (our MA) is going on vacation. Maybe Ky (who's covering) can find info today. The wait is killing me. Actually it's not the wait. It's the wait for the next phase - the cruise. I want to be able to start tracking this car.
And I talked with my wife at dinner last night about the name. The Bimini name is sounding better. It's certainly a possibility. And no one on NAM is using it yet. Need to check my local group.

Hi , Looks like my mini has been built in production week 17. I ordered 4/19/08. Just got word from my MA that it has been built and waiting to be loaded on a ship.
Checked miniusa owners lounge and sure enough I moved up one step closer to delivery. Woot !
My Ma gave me a link to a tracking website
http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep/index.jsp
She tells me to plug in the last 7 digits of my vin to track .
As this morning it does not recognize my vin # .
Is this what you all were told use the last 7 digits of your vin # to track.

I seem to be following #4. My biggest worry is the impact to my job. Too much time on NAM. Not enough time on work things. Had to force myself to work today.

I checked the Oxford Plant website, and estimating the time it take in each department it take about 26 hr. to build, paint, and assemble.
Body Shop = 8 hr.
Paint Shop = 10 hr.
Assemble Shop = 8 hr.
So if they started, say Tuesday/Wednesday the "kiddies" should be finished by now (tonight).

Thanks for the info Mini Trekkie! I've been wondering about this. Mine was put in the body shop on 4/29, so I hope he/she'll be done by the end of today
. This little babe is all I think about. I hope he/she gets loaded quickly so that I could go back to the real world.

Mine was supposed to be finished yesterday, but was still in the paint shop. ASK-MINI told me it may be end of this week, early next. I'm going to call again today, and hope something magical happened yesterday and it's done .(although, maybe it was saved from involuntary joyriding??
)
)
.26 hr. for them might mean 48 hr for us
