Looking at the boat site it says that the boat is leaving 26 April!!!!!!! They are showing 320 items on the ships list. Are those all minis?

 

probably not. I've read somewhere that that's one of the things they have to work around. Not all the cargo is Mini's. There's other stuff that gets shipped on these RORO's (roll on, roll off) but mostly it's cars. Anyway, sometimes they have to carry fewer cars because of something else that has to go and people get pushed to the next boat. From looking at history, it seems that there's a ship about every 5 days. So I'm hoping I catch the next one and don't have to sit on the dock for 4 days to a week waiting for the next cruise.

Some week 17 cars have already left the dock? Wow, my Clubman isn't scheduled to be complete until the 30th, but the guy from ASK-MINI said it could be earlier. ASK-MINI and the Mini OL is still saying production but who knows... maybe my clubman will be crossing the pond earlier than I had thought. This is exciting!

Hello fellow week 17'ers! I finally found you, wasn't sure which week I was.

I ordered a week ago today - Saturday April 19. My MA called me early Monday morning and said I was already in production! That's amazing.

Got a VIN number the next day.

They said at ASK MINI at the beginning of the week that I was scheduled for completion on Tuesday 4/29.

 

Not. Fair. I ordered on 3/27, and had to wait until 4/13 for production to begin. And I thought I was lucky because my Clubbie'd been moved up a week...

 

I just got my VIN today. I was planning for a mid June delivery, but the way things are going, I just might take delivery at the end of May. I don't think I will mind too terribly much paying on two vehicles for a month...truck will sure be jealous though!

 

Yes I see that. I didn't know about that site. That is pretty cool site When you go to http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do and track your car it shows the ships name in red. Above that it says if it is red that it has left. Not sure how accurate that is.

 

Just checked the tracking site again and they changed the departure date to 27 April. Oh well whats one more day.

I was perusing the Week 16 thread and I see that steaming79 took the initiative and did a good job organizing the group. Since I don't have anything better to do (not true) while I'm waiting for my MINI, I decided to look through the Week 17/19 threads to try to get a consolidated list of Week 17ers. Ok just checked http://www.ais-live.co.uk/AIS%20Live/aissolent.html and it says the boat has left and ETA to Baltimore is May 5.

Yep...I did get picked up as an "honorary" Week 16er. My Clubman left Southampton on April 23 and is due into NY on May 5 (after a short stop in Nova Scotia) on the Elektra. I havent seen any other posts from folks on that ship.

 

oops...typo..Elektra due in NY on May 2.

 

If you're MINI is on the way, I'd call you an official Week 16er! Oh, and yes, maybe there is a little jealousy there!

THANKS JEARL! The MINI Site states that I am awaiting transport!! I can hardly wait. I checked the WW site, but there is no record of my VIN. I am a total novice at this--is there someplace else I should be checking to see if my car is on a ship? This is all so exciting--I am glad to be sharing the anticipation with you all!

 

Momma Oxford is expecting my new baby today! WaaaHOO! Gonna call here in a little bit and see if he/she's been completed! Such fun! I hope I make it on the next ship. And I hope it's a good cruise ship. I want my baby to have fun on the crossing!

 

If you're not showing up in the WW system, you may be on the K-Line ship EMDEN (the same boat my R53 took across the Atlantic in 2006!), which puts in at Southampton on April 29th and reaches Charleston on May 9th.

Unfortunately, there's no way to track auto cargo on K-Line - you'll have to go through your MA to find out more.
