The dealership contacted me today that they will have my mini tomorrow. I ended up with making appointment to pick up on Friday, because the sales reps in charge is not there tomorrow, and he leave early on 3 o'clock on Wednesday. I work till 6 o'clock everyday, so I can't adjust to his schedule.
I have college evening class on Thursday (and it will be quiz day!)

It is aggravating my mini is there, but I can't pick up because of their reason.

Drew and Saki you are both getting your mini on Friday 4/18 and I am getting mine one week after yours 4/25. My dealer said it would be ready next Tuesday but I have work and am just getting back to work on Monday 4/21. I work at a school and I am on Spring Break. I would rather take Friday off so I could have a three day weekend with my mini. I think you are doing that Drew.

Yeah, I let my boss know about 2 months ago that I was getting a Mini so she was aware well ahead of time that I was taking a day off to take delivery. Just sheer, dumb luck about the timing, but I'm not complaining

And they say 13 is an unlucky number

Congrats again saki and MJB, it won't be long before we are motoring! And as for Friday, think of the bright side...what better way to start the weekend ?

Wow... expectation dates. I have no idea when mine will be at the dealership. I suppose I should e-mail my MA tomorrow to find out.

I could pick mine up next Tuesday but I really want to take a long weekend with my mini that is why I am waiting.

I get 10 paid sick days per school year and 2 paid personal days. I haven't used all my days yet so if they complain I really don't care. This is my last year at this school. I am going to try and find another job elsewhere.

I called my MA yesterday and he told me it was still at the Charleston Docks. He said it would be a couple days until it went to the VDC, then 6-10 days until it reached Louisiana. If it really takes that long, I'm gonna be pissed. The car was on dry land on the 12th! Aren't sold vehicles moved toward the head of the line. So agrivating.

Sorry! Just had to vent.

You live in Lafayette Louisiana I used to live there back in the 80's for about two years. I am trying to think of the road I lived on can't remember, before living there I lived in St. Martinville, Louisiana.

When did yours get here and what port is it at? I am going to call my MA after 1:00 to see if mine is on its way to the VDC or not. I will let you know what I find out. Mine got here on April 12th at the New Jersey port and it was on the ship Tristan

MJB,

Mine was on the Emden and landed at the Charleston port on the 11th at 11:45 pm. The ship was shown at the dock all day Saturday, but gone on Sunday. So I take this to say that the car has been sitting at the Charleston port since Saturday.

I called my MA no answer so I left him a message on his voice mail. He is really good about getting back to me. I just want to know if it is on its way to the VDC also.

I still haven't heard from my MA. He comes in at 1:00 on Tuesdays because they are open till 9:00 tonight. I ended up ordering a checkered flag antennae topper for my mini I think it will look nice with the checkerboard roof, mirrors etc....

Drew you must be so excited only a little over two days before you pick up your baby. I can't wait until next week even though I have to go back to work on Monday I want it here so Friday will come. We are also taking our 12 year old son with us but I told him we would go to his stores after we get the car I will not be able to take it. He said that is okay mom he understands.

Yeah, we're getting close, I am getting really anxious now. It's a huger event than normal for me as I financed it and have no intention of owning another car for the next 7-8 years. This coming after leasing every other car I've ever driven. Considering I have a 50mi round trip commute to work everyday I'll be practically living in it as well.

BTW I love the checkerboard look, and the antenna topper should look amazing w/ the roof and mirrors, please post pics! And I'm sure your son will be a "Miniac" in no time as well. Who knows, in 5 years he'll be driving around in a 2013 hydrogen powered Mini Cooper

I didn't end up getting a chance to call my MA, yet, but it wouldn't surprise me if it were still at the port. They quoted me 6-8 weeks, with it probably being closer to the 6 weeks from the time of order. That would put it at early-May, technically. I'm hoping to get it by my birthday (May 2nd), but anything before the second week of May I consider gravy.

Just think of it as a personal improvement exercise, a practice in patience.

It is almost here for you I am so excited for you and on Friday at 10:30 I will be thinking of you getting your mini.

My son loves the mini but I asked him when it is his time to learn how to drive that he can learn on my mini he said no mom I don't want to damage it in an way. I hate to tell him I think he is a better driver than me he has a dirt bike, four-wheeler he has been driving something since he was about 3 starting with those kids remote control cars.

Lol, MJB. Not always, my dear. Though, I'm told it comes with being a Taurus.

Sorry 'bout that, joe. I can imagine the hardest part when you're anxious is in being unable to get any information whatsoever.

Has anyone looked into MINI financial services for financing? I e-mailed my MA today to get a purchase order to send to my credit union, and he sent me an app for MINI financial stating they're offering "very very competitive rates" right now. I'm not sure what the "very very" means, but I'm waiting to hear back from him. Anyone go that route and know what rates their giving?

My local credit union decided to screw me over yesterday, so I'm dropping them. They couldn't hold my credit report longer than 60 days, and apparently, just the act of them checking it dropped the score 18 points, which they say puts me in a new tier. They're quoting that something that's been in dispute for 5 years (and is going to be dropped from my report in September) didn't appear on the first report but is appearing now. Yeah, right. And they won't get a person involved, hiding behind the Almighty Computer that tells them what rate they have to offer. They wanted to give me a 7.2% when my credit score is 706!

I said, thanks but no thanks, I'll be paying off my current loan with y'all with my trade-in, and y'all probably won't ever see my money again. Then I promptly applied with Pentagon Federal Credit Union, as many people on here suggest, and was immediately approved for their 4.25%. I'm not sure MINI financial's going to be able to beat that.

They won't be able to beat that. Mini Financial is like 6.1%. We were approved for that but our credit union gave us 4.5% so we went with our credit union.

Mini finance quoted me 6.49%. If you put down 20% they will drop to 6.24%.

Ah, yeah, then I'm not gonna even bother. I don't want another bank dinging my credit report, if I've already got something lower.

Thanks, you two! Appreciate it.

Forgot to mention. The Mini rate is for 66 months. I have attached a calculator to show you three scenarios. All take into account $30,000 sale price and 8% sales tax (my personal sales tax). Scenario 1 is for Pentagon FCU (4.25% @ 60 months, $0 down). Scenario 2 is for Mini Finance (6.49% @66 months, $0 down). Scenario 3 is for Mini Finance (6.24% @ 66 months, 20% down).

You can see that Pentagon FCU monthly note will be slightly higher than the other two, but the interest will be less overall. I guess it just depends what is more important to you.

Good luck
