AC,

I feel your pain with the dealership communication. I had a rough for about 3 or 4 weeks after ordering. Things seem to be better now. I was really pleased with the order process, but the follow up left something to be desired. Amazing knowing that the company is part of the BMW group. I expected better.

MANON stopped reporting 5th. Hoping this is because too close to the shore, not sank into sea...

No, I think the Manon is so close to docking in NY (tomorrow ) that you lose the ability to track on the sailwx website. Time to switch to http://aisfree.aislive.com/ to track it as it comes closer to port.

BTW I just tried registering and the site is having some techincal difficulties.

DrewN,

I think they are having perpetual problems. I got the same thing the other day when I tried.

saki,

I e-mailed them and they responded that they are closing the free site. You can register for a year, but it is $1325.00. Wow!

Mine is on the Tristan and will arrive on Saturday 4/12 it seems like these past days have just dragged on for me like never ending. Does anyone else feel the same way? I tried to register on the ais website but also got the technical difficulties errors. I figured they didn't want to do it for free any longer. I see the Patriot is also arriving tomorrow. I was hoping mine would make that boat but he didn't, if you can't tell I am not a very patient person.

Lol. You have to be somewhat patient, or else you'd have just bought off the lot.

I am not patient at all my husband thought it was a miracle that I waited this long. I needed an automatic that is one of the reasons I didn't buy off the lot plus being financially ready to buy my car. I figured this is my car one that I will hopefully have for quite some time and I wanted to make it as much like me as I could. That is why I went crazy with checkerboard. I thought at one point maybe too much and was going to change it but the more I see it the more I know I have to leave it as is.

Meanwhile, Mini Owner's Lounge is down too.
See, that website is mixture of .asp and .aspx, which kinda make sense that they goes down frequently (Twice in these 4 weeks).

#/me such kind of job.

I went the other way around this time. My current MINI is a 2003 automatic I bought off the lot in Houston. This time, I went for a standard. My first car ever was a standard Honda CRX, and I miss the feel of the clutch. Here's hoping it does drive me crazy in Austin traffic. Lol.

What color are your checkers on, MJB? I love the look of the checkers, but I wasn't sure it'd look so good against MY. I figure I can always try white tape when I get it and see if I like it before converting. I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing pictures of yours.

[Edit: ] Ah, found it. You're a CR. Checkers really look good against that.

(And is there really such thing as "too much" with a MINI? I mean, they're supposed to stand out, right?)

I tried to get on earlier also and kept trying and it wouldn't let me on it told me to try later. I probably broke it by being to persistent.

The amazing thing is that I am from a very small town in upstate New York and where I am at I might have seen maybe a handful of minis. It is just a car that you don't see many of at least not yet and when I tell people what I am getting they don't have a clue of what I am talking about. Their answer is what is that. I will be the only mini cooper parked in the school parking lot where I work UH OH!!! It looks like I will be parking a major distance away from other vehicles. This one teacher that I told seemed quite impressed and the kids think it is awesome they all want a ride.

The checkers will be black and white and the main color of the mini is Chili Red I also am getting the checkerboard mirrors, rearview mirror and checkerboard dash with rooster red colorline. I was going to get the checkerboard door handles but decided to wait on that.

I think I am on that boat! Thank you so much for posting this.

My Clubman was finished 3/31 and is supposed to come into Charleston. Automated line says it is on it's way so it HAS to be on this boat.

Whoo Hoo! Cannot wait!!!

Yeah, I will be the only Mini at my parking lot at work as well, I'm looking forward to those long long walks from the very end of the lot to my building

My coworkers are pretty much all excited for me, I know a few guys at work who are enthusiasts and own a Civic Si, RSX Type S, and an STI, and they have asked me to take the Mini out for a spin once it arrives. One of my coworker's kids have been asking about my Mini, and she tells me they are looking forward to seeing it when Take Your Kids To Work day rolls around .

Yeah I will enjoy the long walks also as long as I don't walk backwards so I can look at my mini.

My son had a friend over lastnight and he asked me when I was getting my mini he said when you get it we can steal it and take it for a ride. I said I don't think so the keys will be locked up. Then he had to go home because my son spiked a fever of 102.7. He is on spring break vacation what a way to spend your vacation. I am taking him to the doctor today I think he has strep.

I work at a school so I am always with children and some of the high schoolers scare me with the way they drive.

Excellent. I was beginning to wondering if I was the only MINI on there! I suppose there could be other lurkers here checking out things, not posting, but really, where's their week thirteen pride? ;-)

I will be in Charleston on the 12th. Kline-Emden. Then on to Greenville distribution center by train, then here to Louisiana by truck. I wish I could track it through this or how long is normal. I know it is around 215 miles from Charleston to Greenville, and another 650 miles or so to Louisiana. My MA says 10 days. Seems long to me. Hope it's quicker.

My husband own STI and, yes, he is crazy for auto. He is surely looking forward to me getting Mini, so that he can play around too.
My previous car was my husband's old WRX, which passed away this Feb. I have been out-of-car for 2 month now...there are no usable public transportation around my area (different from Tokyo!), so absolutely 2 months of NO FUN :(

I think I will start acting like a auto crazy as soon as my Mini comes. I miss driving a lot!
