Week 13 Support Group
I have a question I called Ask Mini this morning and they told me my car was finished on Sunday and that it is on its way to the South Hampton Port to catch a boat. They said it should be on a boat in a couple of days. How do I know which boat it is on and how do I track from here?
I am so anxious to get my mini. I hate all this waiting. I emailed my ma and hopefully he will get back to me with some info.

Mine is "Awainting Transport" as well, but it hasn't shown up on the WW site. Oddly enough, neither is the VIN for the car I'd originally ordered before I reordered, and it was finished in Week 12.
Four of the week 12'ers were placed on a non-WW carrier, the Western Highway, which actually set sail on the 22nd, went to Germany then came back down thru the channel proceeding the others of week 12 by about 2 or 3 days. It went to Germany and picked up some bimmers as I found out thru a bimmer site. The others got put on the Independence II. Your original ordered MINI may be with us on the Western Highway. Unfortunately there's no bill of lading (like they have on the WW line) that I know of to look up a VIN to verify this or I'd ask you for the VIN and check for you.
My MA emailed me and said that my mini is celebrating his birthday. The ask mini site told me this morning that it was on its way to the port but the automated said it is still in the paint shop. I got on the WW website and my VIN is not coming up yet. I guess it is on its way to the port it just takes a while to update.
Are not able to track your cars at all other than through your MA? Have you tried the WW site?
Hmm..then maybe just east-coasters got onto the WW ship (Patriot) that left Southampton port on Monday? I'm still not 100% on how this stuff all works, that might be the case.
I do see VINs on the bill of lading for the ship that left Southampton yesterday. Maybe I can check for you guys/gals. Is there a safe/secure way to do that? Maybe PM me your VIN and I'll check for you.
In the WW site, after you enter your VIN you'll see a screen called Cargo Status History. The Voyage Number is a clickable hyperlink. Click on that and it will show you the Ship's schedule. If it shows SOUTHAMPTON in red with a departure date then it already left.
Now, if you want to track the TRISTAN on its way to NYC, you can do so on this site . I looked up the ship's call sign -- it is SKWI. Go to http://www.sailwx.info/shiptrack/index.html and enter SKWI under "Search for one ship by call sign". You can now track the Tristan as it sails to NYC. One caveat, though. The Sailwx website does not track your ship until 2-3 days after departure, so wait until like the 3rd or the 4th to check this website and the ship's progress.

[Disclaimer: ] I'm not trying to be a wisenheimer or anything. This is an honest question I really just don't know the answer to. [/Disclaimer]
Is there a reason it would be bad for your VIN to be made public? I don't understand what could happen if someone else knows your VIN. Or your license plate number for that matter (I see them blanked out in pictures that get posted.)
If you've got access to that bill of lading, I'd love to have you check to see if my VIN's on it and just not appearing on WW, yet. I appreciate the offer a lot!

That's a good question, I'm not sure why a VIN shouldn't be made public. One thing's for sure, I'm relatively paranoid about stuff in general
NP, btw, more than glad to help out

That's okay; I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. I tend to be a lot more laissez-faire on that kind of stuff than I should probably be. I suppose in the day and age when even your identity can be stolen, you can't be too careful.
Alright TWISTER, we are ship mates! I'll be getting off the ship at NY (and headed to the NJ VDC) but we still have a ways to go before we part
.
You probably have already done this already, but here is a direct link to tracking the PATRIOT:

Mine is in vessel MANON. From Southampton To NY, arriving in April 8th.
Funny. The vessel continue to sail to Baltimore, MD, arriving April 11th,
which is my closest city, and also where my dealership exists.
I wonder if it would be faster if the vessel unload at Baltimore,
rather than all at one place in NY...

I am on the Tristan and I have 53 other vehicles with me, if you want me to check on the boat I am private message me with your VIN it is entirely up to you.
The Tristan is also showing a ETA of 4/9 but on the WW website it says 4/10 but I have a question the Tristan is showing it has been anchored all day is that normal? I am just so excited. My darling husband said this morning if you could fly out and ride with your mini the rest of the way you probably would and I said of course.
Hey thanks, MJB! That's great! I'll send you a PM.
The tracking site doesn't actually report the position of the ships. It reports the position the ships were in when they last decided to transmit local weather information. It's quite possible for a ship not to be tracked at all if it doesn't report weather conditions.
