Thanks for the photos...they gave me a MINI fix, which I was really in need of this morning! Brusier looks awesome! Enjoy your first full day together.
Bruiser looks amazing. The blue looks so intense in the photos. Hey, I'd like to see the interior when you get a chance to take a few more pics. I'd like to see how the blue seats look ... Oh, and the driving lights, too. Am I seeing white covers on them?
Looks great! I also would like to see the interior if you have any pics. We got the leather/cloth on ours but have yet to see any other than the mini web site.
No new news yet...trying to be as patient as possible! We've had awesome weather here in NE Ohio all week and everytime I go somewhere, I just think to myself how great it will be once Stella gets here!

I let my batteries die in my camera while I was installing the Kuda Mount for my nuvi. With a bit of help from lacning74 I successfully installed it. Geez some of those interior parts just don't want to detach!
174 miles so far. So hard not to floor it.
My speedometer states 70 mph while my GPS shows 67 to 68. I think that's 4% to 5% error. Not as bad as I've heard others state. It'll probably keep me from getting tickets a time or two.
I'll take pictures when I batteries charge back up... probably tomorrow since I've lost the sunlight. I wish I had a fisheye lens but I'll do what I can. Hopefully the pictures portray how nice the pacific blue goes with the piano black and the anthracite headliner.
What fun! Hey, something your post states made me just think of it--years ago, there was a "break-in" period for a car. Couldn't run the RPMs up over a certain point, etc. You mentioned not flooring it--is that because there's a break-in period? Haven't had a new car for 30+ years, so I'm sorry if I'm completely off base here ...

My last new car was 1992. Yes, still have break in periods. This car's break in period is 1200 miles, nothing over 4500 rpm nor 80 mph. Which appears easy to accomplish but it's much harder than you might think. Bruiser has 267 miles now. 933 to go!!!

Used to be I changed the oil after the break in period, still necessary???

What does the break in actually break in?
Brake pads seat well with the rotors in 200 miles I think it said; tires do something within 200 miles - maybe get those little nubs off the edges; and the manual clutch is 300 miles, mating the materials without smoothing them. The engine mostly is the rings getting a good seal with the cylinder walls. Drive too hard and they glaze over not ever allowing a good seal to develop and it allows oil to get by burning oil and fuel to get into the oil contaminating it and making it not function for as long. Same thing happens if you drive the same speed all the time. The rings never press hard enough against the walls.
I'm going to have them change the oil at 500 and 1200 miles at my cost. They told me $65 a shot. This will be without resetting the service interval. I just feel better about getting those metal shavings out of there. It'll make me sleep better.
Yeah.. I want to give it a good clean up too. Did you notice my nuvi mount? That took me a long time. Probably not the best picture of the mount though I think I have a few of the mount itself in my gallery. Anyways, it's looking great and works wonderfully.
Oh, and if any one needs the part number for the black driving light covers, it's 63120432836.
I may not get them... since I've ordered a set of lamain-x protective films. I'm covering all the front lenses with 40 mil clear and the rears with "smoked" for a darker appearance. Here's a local minnisotan giving instructions on how to apply the films... looks pretty straight forward. I wonder if this would work for the sunroof too. They don't seem to have a single sheet large enough for one panel though.
400 miles completed now. Need to make an appointment soon for an oil change. 800 miles to go!!!
