Meet Chloe!!!

I picked up Chloe and she is as wonderful as I was hoping! I am finding every reason I can to take her out for a drive and I am so glad I didn't have to go to work today because I would have been going crazy!

So here she is! She is a CR/B MCS with the Premium Package, Cold Weather, and Comfort. I also went for the Nav, DSC, and LSD.

So far, I am LOVING the comfort keyless access, the nav, the integrated IPOD, and the way she drives and handles! (Still figuring out the bluetooth...not sure if my Motorola Q is going to work how I want it...)

For those of you who have deliveries coming, hang in there...it is TOTALLY worth it! And don't let yourself doubt your decisions. Earlier this week, I was nervous about if I was going to love it as much as when I ordered it, but now I love it even MORE!

Congrats, ldybug -- Chloe's absolutely gorgeous!!! You've nailed my thoughts exactly --After waiting so long, a little bit of doubt starts creeping in along with all the excitement (guess it's normal )! Thanks for the encouragement and the beautiful pix; only a few more days for us now...

Thanks everybody!

After an INCREDIBLE few days...I have a whopping 184 miles, all of which were awesome!!!!

Everybody is teasing me that I am parking at least a half a mile away from everywhere we go, but I'm sure all new MINI owners do it!

Took possession of the new baby 3 hours ago in Atlanta!!!
It's PERFECT!!! (even if the mud flaps were still on order )
Then got to drive the 135 miles home via I-85, I-285, I-75.
Sigh - it really is a different ride from my '07 Cabrio - much smoother and of course quieter. Also hard to get used to the manual - first time with one in 15 years - wondered why it seemed to struggle turning into the driveway - in 5TH GEAR . It all seems to fit better and love the new tilt/TELESCOPE wheel and auto-UP windows, and iPod/bluetooth works perfectly.
First song - by E.L.O. - "Hold on Tight (to your dreams)" - like in the honda ad.

Poor MA - couldn't get over my giggling when I first saw it.

Congratulations! I thought mine would be at the dealer today, but no call.

I noticed that your car arrived at the dealer on 4/3 and you picked it up on 4/7. Does it normally take that long for a dealer to prep the car?

not normally -

I had the dealer add clear bra and window tint and I had to work Fri-Sat so today was the first mutually available day...
Plus it was teaching me restraint and patience

My MA thought my MINI might arrive today when we spoke earlier, that they'd do the dealer inspection immediately when they got it, and that if it arrived today they could have it ready tomorrow. So basically, any plans of being able to sleep tonight have been shot to hell and I'm kind of okay with that.

thulewx - patience and restraint? What are these things? And congrats on the Clubman!

Mine arrived at Charleston on 3/30, and it still hasn't shown up in Dallas. Now my MA is telling me the earliest appointment he could get for the invisishield is for Monday, so I should have it Monday evening. Monday! Maybe I should just put up with the rock chips

Got my MINI last night! I'll edit pictures into this post tonight when I get a chance to either take some decent ones or pull the ones I took at the dealer off my cell phone.

Anyway: I love it, I love it, I love it! And the Owner's Lounge still says I'm sitting in the VDC!

ETA: Behold, the power of a blurry cell phone camera!

Any update on this? I have an MCS on a boat right now and would love to know if my MotoQ has any chance of working!

Well, I have good news and bad news... According to my phone, the car is sync'd with the phone and when I make calls from the phone or receive calls, the call comes through the speakers and I don't have to speak into the phone.

However... the MINI doesn't seem to be able to sync the phone book. So I get messages that say something like "downloading phone book" or "trying to connect to Motorola Q". What this means, though, is that I can't use my nav screen to go through my phone book and make calls. I also can't use the voice activation to make calls. What I have to do is dial through my phone. In searching through the forums, I stumbled across a posting one time that said that after a long drive, the phone did eventually sync with the phonebook and then it worked from then on...keeping my fingers crossed...

So overall, I have basic bluetooth functionality, but it's not quite as easy as I would like... I figure if it doesn't connect after 6-8 months, I will just buy a new one...

Have you tried deleting the connection and reconnecting? My phone would not sync properly the first time I tried. I deleted the bluetooth connections and resynced and it worked fine the second time.

Yep, definitely good/bad news. Would be quite the shame if you can't really use the full bluetooth capabilities and still have to use the phone to dial, etc.

Oh, I wouldn't buy a new Mini just because the address book doesn't sync.

Hopefully it will be something as easy as that. Then again, I have problems with the Q locking up or spontaneously rebooting periodically anyway so maybe this is the excuse I have been looking for to get a new phone anyway.

Well, sadly I have to say that I have the same issue. The nav screen just sits on the phonebook xfer message for a long time and then eventually says that it is searching for the phone. Odd, since the phone still thinks that it is connected and I am able to dial through the phone. I even went to the extreme and blew away the software in my Q with the latest update, created a single address book entry on the phone, repaired the phone. Still hangs there on the nav unit. Not looking good for the Q. Maybe in the next month or so as the new phones hit the market I'll dump the Q and pick up something that works with the Mini bluetooth.

If anyone has actually made the Q work with the Mini, I would love to hear the details.

Hey all, congrats to everyone on their recent deliveries!

Porifera posted a note about problems with the Q over in the Bluetooth Compatibility thread.

There's a general list of phones in the first post there, or a more detailed spreadsheet here, if anyone is looking for info on whether their phone will work, or is shopping around.

So far, from the posts I've seen regarding the Motorola Q, it will sync up with the phone's address book (reported here), but the Q9M only seems to pair and connect to the MINI as a headset. There's not many reports for it, so it could be there's more differences than we know about.

Also, if anyone sees their phone not listed (or if the information conflicts), we'd love to know what works or doesn't work.

An update on my phone issue...

I got tired of the "Downloading Phonebook" message that seemed endless with the Motorola Q. (I also got tired of carrying around such a big phone that couldn't fit in my pocket.) So my husband got me a phone off of ebay. And the verdict is...

I have to say, I am enjoying the bluetooth functions as much as I hoped I would and I am really happy with the new phone on all accounts.

Good luck to all who are still trying to get the Q to work...

Heh heh. I'm there. Just waiting to see what to replace it with. I'll probably wait until next month as it seems like there are more being announced. I don't see any evidence that the Q (mine at least, one of the originals) has any chance of working. Which phone did you end up with?
