I went with a used Motorola RIZR from ebay. It is Motorola's version of the LG Chocolate. So far, I love it! I realized that I didn't need a PDA b/c I wasn't using any of the functionality, so I went with something small. I also went used because I can get a discounted new phone in like 6 months or a year or something, so I figured I didn't need to pay the ridiculous prices for a brand new one... Good luck with whatever you choose next!

Sounds good. Glad it works for you. I definitely need the email side of things so a keyboard is still in my future. My contract is up so I can float around for a while until I see a phone I like and almost as important, one that will actually work in the mini!

ldybug,

Have you tried voice dialing with the RIZR? Also, does the phone's address book transfer?

Thanks!

My one attempt at voice dialing failed miserably, but I think that was because I had no idea what words I was supposed to use and my voice is notorious for not being picked up by the recoginition software anyway. I have the nav so I can dial through that screen, which works out beautifully. So I would say that I haven't given the voice dialing a good try yet.

The address book transferred immediately. I think I have a medium sized address book, so I was pretty impressed.

Overall, I am really happy with the RIZR's performance...a HUGE improvement over the Q.

Cool! Thanks for letting me know!

The voice control for the phone works by saying "Dial PhoneBookName", where PhoneBookName is the listing as it shows up in the Mini's address book.

It seemed like it took a few days of experimenting with it for my car to start understanding me reliably- I don't know if I figured out how to say it correctly, or if the car learned to understand me though...

You might also want to check out the thread on moving the microphone to the driver's side, it seemed to make an extra improvement in my case too.
