How exciting! I should call and find out where in the process mine is and what day it started. It'd be fun if it was started on my birthday.

Now where did I put that number ....

West coasters will look for the Madame Butterfly, departing Southampton on 3/20. This time you have the short trip. In December, the MB had a stop at Halifax, NS.

Dvlnsyde, where are you in shipping, yet? If started 3/5, your baby should be built now ...

I just called Ask-Mini today and they told me that my car entered production on 3/7/2008 at 8:54AM. I'd been hoping that my car entered on my birthday (3/4) but a couple days later is fine too!

They didn't give word on where the car was today but the recording said it's scheduled to finish production on the 14th.

I'm so excited!

same here, getting some paint, ask-mini stated that it was scheduled to be finished today, wonder how long it takes for the paint to dry??? I am assuming that they bake the cars to some extent to shorten the drying time... anyone know?

Hello.

I hope I'm in the right week. Ordered 2/29. "My precious" is scheduled for 3/15 completion date. I'm so flippin' happy. I'm in Illinois, so my ship will be coming in on the east coast. Does anyone know when it's scheduled to depart?

Hi there - our Mini's are about on the same timetable. You can learn more about tracking your Mini in the 'How to Track Your Mini' thread at the top of this forum.

Until it's finished being built and scheduled to leave, we won't know what ship it's on.

Status of my MINI

Sorry about not responding sooner. My Clubbie is awaiting the TRIANON to pick her up. I spoke to MA and she told me that once the cars leave port it is usually 2 - 3 weeks from being at the dealers. The trip goes like this:

Leave port & set sail for approx. 9 days (to west coast)

Get to inspection center and get prepped & checked for about 5 days

Then off to your dealer!!!!!!!

OMG!!! This is the longest 4 weeks of my life.

I have already managed to pick up some items for my new addition.
I bought the highly recommended items. No mods! I don't want to void any warranty items until I clarify with the dealer what mod are acceptable.
Here is my list of goodies:
Seat belt clips
4" antenna
Easy pull straps for back seats
Foam air filter

I am getting way too excited for my age. Ah, who cares. If people only know how fun MINI's are to drive they would understand.

More to follow . . . . .

dvlnsyde - how exciting! Mine should be finished in a couple days and then I get to wait until it arrives. I'm getting nervous and excited.

It doesn't help that I'm reading 9 billion different do's and don't's on this forum and all the things to mod and so on .. overload!

I do like the 4" antenna, I should pick one of those up.

I here ya "taligator". I have been on this site for about 10 days straight. OVERLOAD is an understatement.

The items I bought are a compilation of common items that many have purchased for their new MINI. I don't think I will be doing any mods too soon. Not to mention the initial investment of almost $30k just for the car. The bank account is a little light, but I can still get small items. What I need to start doing is compiling a list of items as b-day & xmas gifts.

Hope you get yours soon!!!

I looked several places.

http://www.outmotoring.com/

Here is a vendor list.

Where I got my stuff!

Be careful. It doesn't take much to fill up an empty cart!!

Wow! I think I saw in one of these threads that Trianon left yest., along with several others. At least you can plot the ship's position each day, so that's better than nothing ... I've seen, and been a part of, more OCD behavior the last couple of weeks than I've ever experienced. How much fun it is!

Good list of add-ons. I'm getting a stubby antenna, too. Tell me more about the air filter? Down south here, so that might come in handy. I'm also looking at seat covers for summertime ... organizer stuff. You might be interested in this ... a Web site that has sun shades for the two sunroofs: http://www.stratmosphere.com/mini_interior.htm.

You know, the reason I didn't get the sunroof on my car was because it doesn't have something to cover it. I currently have a sunroof on my car and it has a slider that goes over it to completely block the light - I love it, especially when it's hot and I don't want the top open. But the mini just had the screen so I elected not to get it.

Here's a link to the freight ship schedules for anyone interested:

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppSche...pe=generatePDF

I hope I make it on to the Elektra. That leaves Southampton the 20th. Even better would be the Tamesis departing the 18th. If the car is done on the 14th, is the 18th really a stretch?

Eep, first post! Hi there!

I think I'm either in week 11 or 12; the automated ASK-MINI system estimated 3/14 for completion but when I spoke to an actual person, they told me it shows up as in the body shop today and will probably be done early next week.

...I like the automated guy better.

Welcome!

I have confirmation from both the automated system and the rep that it's done on the 14th but they couldn't tell me where it actually was.

I'm just happy it's being done

Fingers crossed!

automated askmini says it's completed today and "Awaiting transportation clearance," whatever that means. Hopefully it means that they've decided to do an experiment with mine and fly it directly from Oxford to Central Georgia via some sort of supersonic experimental aircraft so I can get it tonight.
hey, I can dream, can't I?
