The tracking page of the Owner's Lounge now shows the car At The Distribution Center and with an Estimated Delivery Date of 3/20. Which is tomorrow!
A little hard to believe.

 

Wow! That was fast. I wonder how accurate that 3/20 is. Is that date new? I suppose we would have noticed if it was there before.

When I called 1-866-ASK-MINI, it said it's at the port awaiting a shipping vessel. Do you suppose that means it's waiting for a truck to take it to Peabody?

Next comes the complicated part... getting it paid for, registered, and picked up. I guess I should start making some phone calls.

 

Okay, I've got one thing figured out. I can get a transit plate from the BMV for $12 and proof of insurance. I'll have to get those tomorrow if the car is ready by Saturday. Otherwise, I can wait till next week.

 

The date appeared when the tracking moved from En Route to At The Distribution Center. I'm wondering if it's an automatic date, i.e., the computer adds three days from arrival at the distribution center. I e-mailed my salesman this morning to see if he could find out any more but no reply yet.

I hope awaiting a shipping vessel doesn't mean they're sending it back to England.

 

I just got off the phone with the dealer. My car is indeed on it's way to Peabody and Munjoy's and yours probably are too.
Now the bad news. They can't deliver it until they get the title, which BMW Fedexes from Ohio after the car reaches the dealer. That usually takes two more days, so the paperwork won't get to Peabody until Friday or maybe Monday. (They don't get Fedex delivery on Saturday.)
So a Monday delivery of our cars is possible, but later in the week is more likely.

Still waiting in Toronto for mine!!! It got off the Otello in Halifax on the 14th, and is hopefully on a train from Halifax by now.
I can't wait any longer and Canadians get no owners lounge, so I'm just going to have to wait it out!!

Looks like I'll take delivery on the 28th. Then I'm going to fire up the heated seats just in time for spring!!

 

My vehicle is in transit.... according to Ask MINI. So, it should be on my dealer's lot later today. I can't pick it up till next week, but I'll stop by on Sunday to take a sneak peak.

Our cars are somewhere together... So, I called my dealer who tells me he shows that my car will be through the VDC on the 22nd and should be on a truck by the 25th... I still show "EN TRANSIT" in the Owners' Lounge... like I said in an earlier post I'm starting to think that we weren't on the Emden... that we're actually on the ship that docked today?!?!?!? In any case he says I'll be able to take delivery before the end of the month.

 

nah we were on the emden...aparantly according to my MA the trip through the VDC takes about 6 days depending on how many cars are there then approx 2 days or so to travel to the dealer

we had the ballpark date for the 28th since her boat trip started so i may have her by that saturday (which is still two weeks earlier than i thought i would have her!!!)

 

The OL is always off. Mine says "At the VDC" even though it's in transit to the dealer.

 

Six Days.... well if that's the case then we followed the correct ship... these cars spend a lot of time on docks don't they?

 

As of this morning, my MA tells me that there was a hold up at the port and the latest ETA (at the dealer?) is Monday. The OL still shows "En route". Anyway, I'm down to one vehicle now, so I've got my fingers crossed for Monday...

The John Cooper Works Tuning Kit is Dealer installed now... I've been reading and thinking about it a lot... so today I pulled the trigger and told them to get a kit in there for my car. This may slow things down a day or two but I think in the long run it will pay huge dividends!!
