Velvetfoot, that's cool that yours is going to be done on Valentine's Day.

I just called and talked to a person. He said my MINI's in the paint shop, and should be done tomorrow, but it might be Wednesday.

 

So, our babys could be on the same ship!

 

Yeah, if you were on the west coast, they probably would be on the same ship... but we'll probably be leaving the dock at around the same time on separate ships. The good news for you is that you're going to get yours much sooner than I'm getting mine! Only time I've ever wished I lived on the east coast.

 

We could be on the same ship ... mine's coming to the East coast (Chicago dealership) Mine gets done the day after yours does

I'm reading the Owner's Manual available as a pdf download on the Owners Lounge. It's something like 146 pages long! It's for a 2007 so there are some differences I'm sure-I even recognize that there are no TPMS sensors in 2007 (expensive if you want snow tires on rims).

 

Just called and the automated system says that my scheduled completion date is 2/15. I'm shocked as the order was placed on 2/7.

So, if there's an empty chair in the waiting room, I'll hang our with you guys. I need to learn how to check ports, ships, schedules, etc.

It seems that a lot of people are getting quick turn-around on MINI production these days. I placed my order on the 3rd, and it's finishing today.

Looks like I'm slotted with Lucky week 7. Ordered 6 Feb - estimated completion 16 Feb. I just checked with ASk-MINI and they told me it was started on 9 Feb and check back for an update tomorrow.

Moving along much faster than I thought, but not going to complain about that! Can't wait until I know what ship we'll be crossing over on.

 

Wow, a Clubman! Our local dealer is having an open house this weekend with food, entertainment, etc, to intro the Clubman.

 

Well, my MINI is in the body shop. I hope that's good.

Just got the 'body shop' status report myself. Estimated complete on 2/15.

 

I just called ASK MINI, and mine is all done and awaiting transportation.

 

Yay Robin81! Mine now has moved to "paint shop" ... still 2/15 estimated finish date.

 

Uh oh. Still in "body shop" but completion pushed out from 2/14 to 2/18.

And Velvetfoot... yeah, if you're still in the body shop, it's not going to be finished today. But soon! Soon your MINI will be done.
Mine has been updated to "Awaiting Transport" in the owner's lounge, but I can't seem to get any information about if it's at the dock yet or not. It's not in the WW system though. I'm really hoping it'll be on the Falstaff, but I don't know if that's going to happen...

 

I feel that I'm "missing the boat".

 

Mine went into the body shop yesterday. Still scheduled for completion on 16 Feb per the friendly young man at ASK-MINI.

All this waiting is so painful....

 

Sorry to hear about the delay VelvetFoot. Was this a person who told you this or the automated robot? If it was a person I might call back and make sure they weren't reading something wrong.

I just called today for an update and someone told me that "the Mini's usually take 3-4 weeks to finish production after they start ... so yours should be exiting production week 10 and then be shipped over." I then told him that all week mine has said that it will be finished February 15th and he checked again and said "It does look like it's telling me it will be done on the 15th, sorry for the conflicting information" ... lol

I am curious too what port those of us on the East Coast can expect our Mini's to come in? I'm trying to lookup the schedules on WW and get an idea what boat mine might be loaded on. Looks like the earliest one is "FAUST" leaving on the 17th (Sunday) and arriving in NYC on the 25th (a week from Monday) ... of course that all depends if we're actually coming to NYC and not a different port.

 

I think the ships come into NYC and Charleston on the east coast. And your MINI could be on WW or K line. If you're finishing production on the 15th, you probably won't make it on the Faust. The car has to get to the docks and clear customs first...
