Hello from England.

Hi folks.

My name is James, I'm 20 years old and I'm from the other side of the pond. I usually post on MINI2, and often hear NAM being mentioned so I thought I would come over and see what its all about.

I drive a 2006 ONE D, which I dont think was avliable over in the US? Over the last year I have spent a lot of time and money trying to make it stand out from all the other MINI's driving around.

I was thinking about posting a thread documenting how my car has changed, but after looking around I dont seem to be able to find the right forum to do it in? Anyone got a recomendation?

Anyway, in the mean time here are a couple of pictures of my car.......

Hi James!!! No we don't get the One D over here and many of us are quite jealous over it. There are rumors that the new Cooper D may make it to these shores but nothing is confirmed.

There are threads about car mods but most (I think) are for individual cars. If you want to, just start your own thread. It would be very interesting to see.

Hi James, welcome to NAM.

I've got a thread running that might be a good spot for your story:

There certainly are times I wished the D was available here, but MINI decided the market wouldn't be large enough for it

Beautiful car, James!

Yes, many of us in North America would love to have a little diesel like yours. I am a former diesel owner (VW Golf TDI and then a Jeep Liberty CRD). For me, a little turbo diesel engine would make the MINI an absolute dream machine! There is nothing like the low end torque one gets from a diesel...not to mention the great fuel efficiency.

Thanks for sharing the pics!

Ah good old England. I used to live in the lake district, whitehaven to be precise - in fact, my parents still do.

Moved to the USA in July. The 'D' is a great little car - they should release them here. However, thanks to the exchange rate from UK to US I was able to use my Mini budget to get a Cooper S

Nice car! Your wheels look like a nice upgrade. Are they the Mini R99 wheels, or other make & model?

Welcome to NAM. I am currently watching a Sixty minutes special on global warming, so I have this question to ask. What are you getting for mileage?
