My VIN doesn't show up on the site, but the mini phone number says I'm in transit! Is there another way to find out what ship I'm on?

Same here, upside is the car is actually on it's way now, downside is there is no way to track it. The dealership is pissing me off too as they won't return my calls .

Geekswrath, do you have your MA's email address? If not, call the dealership and ask for it. Then send an email with specific questions and request a read receipt so you will know that it has been opened. I find that people often will respond to an email when they won't return a call, maybe because it is quicker. I am a nice person; I don't cause scenes or make unreasonable demands of others. Having said that, I will not give someone tens of thousands of my hard earned dollars and have them ignore me when I have a simple request for information they have at hand. If you don't receive an adequate response from your MA, call again and ask to speak to the manager. No need to be ugly about it, but definitely let them know that you expect a certain level of service in exchange for your business.

My MA does a pretty good job of getting back to me. He said he didn't have the information either and said the car should be here in a few weeks.

 

My MA is out due to health problems until at least Feb 21st, told to me by a dealership employee. I don't have an email addresses. I called on Monday to try to speak to someone and all I got was the manager's VM, he hasn't called back and I've been too busy to call since. Perhaps if I get a chance this afternoon to sit on hold I'll call again.

My love for mini's has not diminished but my faith in the dealer has dropped considerably, I'm really REALLY jealous of all the great stories I keep hearing about others experiences. Oh well get the car and hope I don't have to deal with them too much. I just wish there was someone in Mini I could let know of my crappy experience so others would not have to go through the same.

 

Seems like they could temporarily re-assign your order to another MA in the dealership so that you could have some kind of contact there. Sorry your experience with the dealer has been so mediocre.

 

I'm on the Emden...should be in Charleston around the 15th of February.

 

fooey... the K-line is showing the Emden arriving at Charleston on the 13th... probably won't be able to pick up the 16th then :(

 

Maybe you just did! If I were an MA or MINI manager, I would certainly be reading this forum and the First Gear threads in particular to "keep my ear to the ground" as to my customer's thoughts and wishes. Certainly, other potential buyers are reading this, so I would hope that dealers are anxious to have NAM posters be nothing but pleased with the service provided by their dealerships.

honestly I know I'm like this because I want the car sooooo bad. Ultimately, I don't care if I get the special Mini treatment, it would be a nice bonus though, so long as I end up with the car in a reasonable amount of time.

It was yesterday . I looked today and it says that its on the TURANDOT, Can they do that, where they change the ship or something. I'm confused

 

I've learned over the past week that it is typical to be booked on one ship and then booked on another.

It happened to me. The AE was my second ship.

 

Well today at work I printed pics of the AE and the Turandot just want to see what my baby will be sailing on. Well Im happy that at least you'll probably have it a week before me. I just hope I dont get booked for another ship.

 

Well, according to ASK MINI my mini landed yesterday at the VDC. Time for them to add my lamps and JCW Aero Kit. Hope it's quick!

 

The Aida is about halfway across the Atlantic Ocean........

 

Boy, it's quiet in here! I'll bet things will start to heat up around Wednesday, though, huh? Who's got an update on the Emden?

 

Just a heads up, my ship got delayed by a day and have heard others have in the past week or so due to rough seas.... Hope it doesn't effect you guys though!
