Hello all!

New MCS orderer/deposit here. Looks like we were beat into the dealer (Towne in Buffalo) yesterday by a fellow orderer, so doesn't look like it will get processed until Monday - our production number, email, etc.

This Mini is for my wife, who has wanted one for some time now. Unfortunately the liquid yellow is gone (what she really had wanted), and we just couldn't find one reasonably priced used, so we went with new. Hopefully the mellow yellow is toned down a bunch with the white top and stripes. Her favourite colour is yellow, but she doesn't like it all the way up to the school bus yellow. Liquid yellow was her perfect choice. Oh well.

She's coming from an old 1995 Civic hatchback with 190K miles. I drive a 1997 Saab 900 SET with a lot of extra goodies installed (194K miles), and am active in the Saab community. Hopefully NAM turns out to be every bit as good as SaabNet!

Here's the order (out of the over 10,000,000 possible configurations, here's ours) -

Cold Weather and Premium Packages
Dynamic Stability Control

Cloth Seats (she doesn't like the heat or cold of leather(ette)) and MY colour line
Comfort Access
16" S-winders with performance tires

Now we are just in the gut wrenching wait period and looking for snow tire packages, as we will be taking delivery in the middle of December (so he says) here in WNY. She's so excited and still can't believe we pulled the trigger.

Any thoughts... we might have until Monday to make changes? Thanks for a great site. I'll post pics when she comes in... no name yet, the misses wants to see her first. :-)

 

Welcome to NAM and to the addiction that is the MINI!

I think you made a great choice. I see a buzz in many threads on NAM about how sharp the MY/W color combination is. The bonnet stripes will be a nice complement to the top. Have you though about white wheels to match? Tough to keep clean, but man, they would look positively primo on your MINI!

Though I can understand based on your location why your first search is for a snow tire package!

 

Sounds like a sweet build ! I really like your color choices and your options. Just don't agree with the Mrs. when it comes to the seats (leatherette with the heated seats is great, warms up in NO time and doesn't feel all that cold to begin with).

Only a two month wait... not bad. But it'll SEEM bad to you and your wife ! But enjoy the anticipation, it's part of the fun !!

Congratulations on your order and I hope your wife likes the Mellow Yellow. For me, liquid yellow was a bit too yellow. I'm very happy with the mellow. To me, it almost has a little orange highlights.

Well, with updates not as frequent as we hoped, it seems to be aboard the UNDINE, and we might even have it at the end of the month. Was listed on the FREEDOM, but apparently wasn't there soon enough. Oh well.
