Engine oil. I have a MINI cooper S, Yes!!!

I love my cooper and the mini community. My father handed down his 02 cooper s to me this summer. He put on some mods like a magnaflow exhaust, alta light weight pulley, Alta intercooler, alta Intake, dinan stage 4 software, and H&R springs and i just bought Milltek headers which i havent installed yet.But when i put it up on the jack to put on the headers i also want to change my oil (Im doing it myself dont know if thats bad). The thing is that I live in Miami and the service manual recommended 5w30, so i went out and bought 5 quarts of royal purple(wanted reline couldnt find it anywhere). Is that that weight to thin for Miami, or should i go back and change the weight?

Welcome to NAM!! Sounds like you have a great Father and a pretty sharp MINI. Stick with the 5W-30 and you'll be in good shape. Enjoy your new ride!!
