Not sure where my MINI is. I'm getting anxious. It'd be cool to get the car on Halloween....

Mine reached the VDC last Thursday. My MA said it's normally 5-7 days from reaching port until it's delivered. I'm hoping for 5, since that would be tomorrow. I've been frantically cleaning my garage so I won't have to park the MINI outside, a luxury the soon-to-be-sold Jetta rarely received.

However, I'm a little worried because someone else just took delivery from MINI of Sterling and there was an unexplainable two week delay for the car at the VDC. I know I couldn't handle another 9+ days of waiting, and I'm pretty sure my girlfriend would kill me if she has to deal with me waiting.

I would check with your MA and demand they give you a report on the VDC process of your MINI because the last time i read some1 had 2 week delay it was because the truck onloader crushed the roof of the mini and they had to "correct" this my installing a new roof (but who cares about the integrity of the rest of the frame right? i think its rediculus ) if mine is there over a week im demanding a damage report because they must report it to you and you can refuse delivery (tho i would hate to wait longer)...
Check other forums because they have a large detailed (with pics) account of a VDC...i just typed in VDC on the forums
heres the link
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...h+carolina+vdc

if mine got a crushed roof like that id demand a new 1 and a loaner till it arrived

Here's the thread, from GreenCactus.

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=117478

If it'd been my car with that kind of unexplained delay, I definitely would've asked until I was satisfied with the answer before taking ownership. It seems like it was some sort of delay for a bunch of cars. Just guessing, but I'd say they were waiting to consolidate the shipping to MINI of Sterling. Get 'em all on one truck, perhaps. But, yea, I'd definitely demand an answer.

That said, I'm sure my MINI will not have to wait that long. I'm just anxious to get it. And, really, I'm anxious to give them many, many thousands of dollars. You'd hope that would ensure some urgency.

The MINIs ought to be rolling in now so post some pics when you get them! Mines been at the dealer since about the middle of the week but I was on my honeymoon and couldn't pick it up. Now I've got to wait till this Saturday and its driving me nuts!

I drove by the dealership today and mine arrived! I haven't spoken to my MA, but I fully expect to take delivery tomorrow.

not to burst your bubble, but just because its at the dealership does not mean its ready for pick up... they still have to do a final inspection before letting her drive away.

I was being mostly tongue-in-cheek, on par with telling my girlfriend I planned to camp out at the dealership last night to be there when they open at 9:00 today. Mostly, I'm just going to be in my MA's ear today. "Is it ready? Is it ready? Is it ready? Is it ready?"

I'm anxious because I've already sold my previous car. (Normally wouldn't, but I had a deal I couldn't pass up.) Larger, though, is that I waited as my MINI sat at the port in New Jersey for 7 days before getting on a truck for the short haul to DC. While other MINIs have recently waited 2 weeks at the VDC before shipping to MINI of Sterling, the normal is 5-7 days from port to delivery. I didn't order any VDC-installed options, so I was presumably just stuck in the queue. I want to drive out of that queue.

That is the 'no-holes' from Go Mini Go found here: http://www.gominigo.com/18545.html

I added a frame/plastic cover from Pepboys which made me make an extra trip to Ace Hardware to get extra long bolts then...

All in all a very nice looking package..

The Website just informed me mine should be at my dealer on Friday. Considering it was unloaded Saturday in SC, to make it up here to Minnesota in 6 days, that's not bad at all

(First off - my apologies. I have been reading for months, but never signed up. Took 2 days to activate my account, but now I'm official!)

So - congrats to those of you who already have taken delivery (that black IS really sharp, I have to admit) and I empathize with those still waiting! It looks like there are a few of us who will be stopping by at Rasmussen in Portland - I called this morning and was told my MINI should be arriving there today or tomorrow, so I'm assuming it won't be alone!

I really really wish I'm wrong too! Well, at least I hope his out of office reply is wrong! I'm not sure if I should wish his vacation cut short or hope he is having a good one. Maybe he'll come back happy and give us more goods!
