Paintshop = usually one day and then gets moved to assembly for another day. Once assembly is done, it's off to the port the same day or the next - so 2-3 days before your mini lands at the port in the best case scenario.

Sweet! In that case, I hope we'll be on the same boat ASIAN EMPEROR!

Tharkun, i've been looking at the page for the last few days. On the PDF, one of the restriction is:

Plates can only be ordered by a registered owner.

I guess i'll have to make a few calls and find out :|

The DMV here has the same requirement, but when ordering the plate is does not ask for which vehicle you are ordering the plates for, here you do that once the plates are ready to pick up at a local office. You just need to be a registerd owner of a vehicle. May try and see if WA is the same.

Edit: Just looked at the application and WA does ask for current lic #, I would call and ask about ordering for a new car that has no license as of yet.

I ordered my plate here in California on the DMV website www.dmv.ca.gov Not sure how Washington works. I know that my plate comes in 6-8 weeks and then I go pick it up.

The wait is killing me!!!!!!!!!

The anticipation is getting worse, I didn't think that was possible. You'd think the second go-around would be easier since I already have a MINI!

The wait is a bit painful but i've been doing better than i thought i would. I am more concerned about how the little one will deal with being left outside in the open. I am getting a cover and will learn to get used to covering her daily - still - i wouldn't leave a cat or a dog outside - i need therapy

My MCS is finishing assembly and getting QCed! Finishing production today!

The guy said it would take 1.5 weeks to get to the ship port, I hope he's wrong... does it really take that long? I'll miss the boat!

Mine went to the port the same day it passed QC checks. I am not sure if mine will be on the Asian Emperor - i am expecting the little one to get on Tortugas - if it makes the emperor, well and good. If it doesn't, well, patience is a virtue

Have you tried searching which vessel it is scheduled on?

The only cargo tracking link i have is (from the stick on this page):

http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/

I entered my VIN and there are no records yet - it means one of:

1. Mini isn't yet on the ship but will be
2. Mini is on the ship but records haven't been updated
3. Mini won't get on this ship
4. Mini will be on another carrier

Too bad we dont get the auto window up or USB, but based on whats happening with the economy as well as prior years, im sure the price will go up a good amount for 08 so im not complaining! if only boats could go as fast as airplanes...

Looks like most of us might be on the Tortugas. The Asian Emperor leaves on the 8th and mine isn't on the boat yet.
