My wife noticed other MINI drivers waving at us and a number of total strangers have stopped us in parking lots to ask questions and generally discuss the car. My spouse has also noticed that I have visited MINI sites on the web - NAM is by far the best - and that I'm avoiding driving on the freeway. I think she is about to call a re-programmer.

I've told her that MINI ownership is more like a big, friendly club and that I won't be dragged off to a hidden compound. I'm right, aren't I??
Well, just proves that us old farts can discover Mini fun as well....I joined the fun August 6th....It's a top down day

Sit down, buckle in, wave enthusiastically, present your most child-like grin, and enjoy the ride!!!!!!!!!!

/hands everyone another glass of Kool-Aid. Resistance is futile. You have been assimilated. Accept that which you can not change.

Waving is great fun. A visit to the NAM compound sounds interesting. I'm learning to accept assimilation. However, the Kool-Aid is still worrisome.

You could get an R52 grill badge (black, silver or white) to display on your bonnet.

Koolaid and cult-talk? Hmmm.

I think I like collective better.

Badges for the bonnet! What a concept. I didn't realize that buying a MINI was the equivalent of buying a naked Barbie doll. There must be a MINI Dream Garage out there somewhere.

While I do like the term, "Collective" sounds vaguely Soviet; as gokartride noted above "cult sounds much more edgy."

Naked Barbie Doll?

Well, now that you mention it, Yes it is!

MINI Dream garage? It's been done.

It looks like "ken's" garage to be. We are all envious. Looks better than most livingrooms I've seen.

Good grief, "Ken's garage" not only looks better than most living rooms, it's cleaner than my kitchen. I wonder if Barbie let's Ken drive the MINI??

No worries your car will administer the Kool-Aid at a rate related to the number of G's you pull in the twisties and based on engine RPM's....it's highly addictive resistance is futile.
