I acquired my '07 MCSCa,PW (notice the use of un-NEWBIEISH use of abbreviations) six weeks ago. It has the Sidewalk package. I have never had more fun in a car in my life. At 60, this is my post-midlife crisis convertible.

My wife noticed other MINI drivers waving at us and a number of total strangers have stopped us in parking lots to ask questions and generally discuss the car. My spouse has also noticed that I have visited MINI sites on the web - NAM is by far the best - and that I'm avoiding driving on the freeway. I think she is about to call a re-programmer.

I've told her that MINI ownership is more like a big, friendly club and that I won't be dragged off to a hidden compound. I'm right, aren't I??

A few people have told me that MINI owners are in a cult. They're just jealous I think! Imagine all the fun you'll have when you join a local MINI club in your area (if you haven't already!)

It only becomes a cult once you start budgeting (a major portion of your income) for upgrades and events.

Porsche has one of those too... "Drivers' Ed" events are addictive.
go hit a track with BMWCCA. (yes you are eligible since BMW owns MINI).

(not many people wave during commuting hrs here in NJ though... I see 4-10 minis per day ~100mi.)

Happy Motoring!

Yep, Cult all the way. What you need to do is properly initiate your wife. Does she get to drive it enough that she can't breathe when she's not in it. If no, then put her behind the wheel right now. If there isn't enough time for both of you to feel this way, get another one.

and so it begins - muwahahaha

A cult? I've been asked that several time already, and I just laugh. I guess it seems that way when you're an "outsider". But then again, people in cults feel the say way...hmmmm.....

PW Sidewalk? 1 word...Gorgeous! Now post some pics!

Of course you're correct. The compound is in no way hidden.
Welcome to NAM!

There is no cult. It's a figment of your imagination. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Yep - the MINI (ESPECIALLY the cabrio) is an anti-aging machine...

Are they gone yet? Whew....that was as close one. Everyone can resume stripping nekked and jumping on Oprah's couch...

I bought my first Harley back in 96 and I am on my third HD and still ride a lot - sold my PU and ordered my Mini on 8/31..... This "cult" as you call it - is very simular to riding a Harley - No matter where you go, people will look and talk to you and if you park next to another Mini - you have an instant friend - So, kick back and enjoy..... Your 60, I am 57 - We Aslo belong to another club (we can buy our meals from the back cover of the Denny's menu, LOL)

Yes, you are now part of a cult... I will be PMing you the bank account number that your paychecks are to be direct deposited to. 30 to 45 days after the deposits start arriving we will then decide on how much you will receive in living allowance........

Oh yeah baby! The dealerships should all serve Koolaid when you take delivery. Nobody can believe how MINI-brained I've become. Be sure to watch out for the mod bug. It hits alot of us (and our bank account) really hard. Not that I'm complaining - I love this car and making it more and more mine! BTY I purchased mine the end of June 06 and I may be worse now than during the first weeks/months of ownership.
