Knew Stanwood well, but not having been there in the last 10 years, imagine things have changed some.
Was chating with a NAM memeber located in Mukilteo and he sent me the link for a Mini club, you may want to check them out.
Cool! Thanks for the reminder- I signed up for the PS Mini forums a few months ago, and meant to go introduce myself once I had a car on it's way for real... I guess now's the time, huh?
My MA says my car is in the process now, and will be finsih on Thursday.
I need to call my MA today.. we are Week 39 brothers at the same dealership.. lets see if we finish on the same day and get over on the same boat..
I'll update you..
Just checked thw WW schedule. The Freedom is scheduled to leave Southampton on 9/28 bound for NY and Charleston.. What are the chances our minis will be on that?
How do you get them to tell you where exactly your car is? All they will tell me is that it is 'in production' and that 'sir, you really don't need to call back again until next week.' LOL. I guess they can see in the computer how often I have been calling. All they will say it should finish production by 9/30.

I'm sure they've got call notes, I've gotten the 'Yes, there's no change, it's still () just in production' I'd missed the mini.com FAQ though. The automated phone system has a bit more detail that the OL, apparently, since the OL says 'In production' and I got the paint shop info from the automated phone system..
It takes a while to go from start of production to the body shop, which is the next step. Check the mini.com FAQ and ask for the numeric code.
Okay, so I looked around at mini.com (which eventually points to miniusa.com) and I'm not seeing any FAQs covering the production. Am I missing something?
How many days does it actualy take to make a mini? 4?
Conflicting times....but the average seems to be 3 - 5 days, the main assembly line runs 24/7, paint shop 5 days with partial day Saturday if back logged.
Numbers has production at roughly 4,300 units per week, so do the math and that says there are roughly 25 per hour rolling off the line.
