Well, here we go ...
Just a quick note to say "greetings" and thanks for all of the good information on this board. We're new to the MINI world and it's really been helpful to have access to so many stories, opinions, and reviews.
Got our order in over the phone on Saturday and we will be exchaning the deposit for the production info and some paperwork, later this week. Now the waiting starts.
I guess we're going to be in the minority around here with a non-S Cooper. But, I'm still looking forward to a sweet ride on my 40 mile round-trip commute. I figure, if you've got to drive, you might as well have some fun in the process ...
Peace !

Welcome. No you can spend the next 4-8 weeks second guessing your order. Should I have purchased LSD, and dropped the sunroof? I kept wondering if I made a mistake not getting the sport suspension. But, I love the car.

What a welcome - thanks !
It's good to know that the second-guessing is natural. That configurator is evil - too many choices. I'm thinking the straight Cooper should be a good intro to MINI-land for us. We kept things fairly basic. I wanted the sport seats & stearing wheel, 16" wheels, f/r fog lamps, and Pepper White all around. My wife insisted on a sunroof and chrome-line interior (Who am I to argue ?!?!).
Now, all I have to do is go back and read that thread on tracking, and the one on detailing, and the one on popular accessories, and the one on suspension upgrades, and the one on ...

The S stands for "snap" - what the coopers say when a cooper S goes by. I am kidding...just kidding - i think the wonderful thing about buying your own car is that it's all about you and your choice. Coopers are as sexy as Cooper S models (aw snap j/k j/k). Welcome to NAM

...also a newcomer
I just bought my '03 Liquid Yellow Mini S and am a newcomer to NAM. I visited many other forums but joined this one. WE ARE NOW HIS AND HER MINI's. The wife drives the MINI and I drive the MINI S. We get a lot of double-takes when we drive down the road side-by-side. We leave at the same time to different jobs. Now begins the tinkering......

Really read through all the threads on that. There are multiple ways to find information about the progress of your Mini. Tracking can be fun and sometimes frustrating. But worth the trouble!
And since you are in Western PA, this info will cost you some Yuengling beer.

Welcome to NAM!! My first MINI was a 04 Cooper and and never had so much fun driving a car in my life. It won't be long and you'll be diddie boppin around Western Pa. in your new ride with a big grin on your face.

Yuengling Beer
Ha, ha !!!
Yuengling, Straubs, Penn Pilsner, and a host of fine micro-brews ... PA has been holding it's own on the beer front. If you ever are driving through the area where I-80 meets I-79, check out the North Country Brewing Company in Slippery Rock (after navigating the "twisties" and finding a place to park it for the night).
Peace !
