How Much Do I Love My New MINI?

When the alarm goes off at 5:30am to get me up to go to the gym, my usual reaction is Nooooooooooo!!!!! This morning, my first week day with the Mini, I thought: if I get up, I get to drive the Mini... and I was up and out in about 5 minutes.

Welcome to NAM, nice set of flickr pictures. Good looking Cooper.

Never thought of a Cooper drive as incentive to go to the gym at 5:30, whatever floats your boat.

I would drive and never make it to the gym.

Nice car Madcaps, and welcome from a newbie, hot on your heals. Your photo comments are spot on - 'star of the street/carpark'

I find it really hard to not bump into things when leaving the MINI, I keep walking backwards so I can see her for longer. And she is a 'she' of no name so far, feels more illicit that way;-)

thanks...

Do I spy the black wheels on 'Mini to be named later'? I'm really regretting not getting those.. but there's always tomorrow.

I also turn back when ever I leave the car and grin from ear to ear!

it keeps making me take the long way home. I typically have a 15 minute ride to work, not enough..

Nearly Madcaps. They are the R99's in Anthracite, and I love 'em after the white wheels of the last one - what a pain to keep clean they were.

It wasn't that long ago we used to watch all the 'proud owner' drivers from our office window. Double checking they locked it, looking back, going back because they 'forgot' something, looking back agin etc. I'm convinced MINI ownership has made a whole new chapter in human behaviour

Today's edition of 'How Much Do I Love My New Mini' :

I was on the phone with a co-worker waxing on and on and on about Winnie. When I finally took a breath, there was a long pause and he finally said:
You talk about the car like it's your child. I better not come over there and find a framed photo on your desk.

And for a second I thought: that's not a bad idea!

I'm on my 2nd MINI since 4/03 and still do these things....

I get annoyed when the car in front of me is going too slow on the twisty freeway ramp!

Have fun with your MINI,

Dave

THAT'S IT Madcaps!!!! A piccy on the desk is a great idea, or maybe a BIG version on the wall.

And a tattoo? Wonder if anyone has.........

A tattoo! hmmm...

Today's addition of 'How Much Do I Love My New Mini' is...

Last night I was sitting in traffic on a narrow street. Coming the other way was a biker dude (older, barrel chested, flowing white beard, leather vest.. the whole deal). We both end up stopped at the same time and leans over and says: "hubba, hubba". And I wasn't even upset that he probably wasn't referring to me, but to Winnie.

Windy is almost a month old and when I bought her I thought "oh I will save so much gas money with the mileage" .. HA... You dont save anything if you love to drive it so much that you just keep looking for places to go.. I used to fill up once every two weeks getting 20 miles to the gallon.. now I have already filled Windy up 3 times in three weeks!

I was the same way with my previous reliable, but boring car. Winnie already has 430 miles on her in a week! Right now I'm using the excuse that I want to get through the break in period before it starts to get cold. Temperature in the Boston area yesterday: 96 degrees Farenheit.
