You have the coolest parents ever. Make sure to appreciate them and show it by caring for your car and being smart and safe out on the roads.

Welcome to NAM!

+++ 1 as all of the above

Congratulations, great first car, very practical and lots of fun.

Drive safe while enjoying your MINI, your parents must think you deserve it. Don't let them down.

Pictures with them, you and the MINI would make a great gallery here on NAM.

I'm with you. My first car was a 1978 Honda Civic wagon with a choke--yes, a choke.

Anyway, I'm just jealous. Congrats!

EWW! Mine had a choke too. 1979 Dodge Omni...YUCK!!!!! Thing only ran occasionally, and when it did it would overheat. Couldnt fix it, 'cause all my money had to go for insurance. Boy those were the days. I would have killed for anything I could have driven out of the city limits.
Lucky, lucky kids getting MINIs...doesnt matter what year you got, you're still very very lucky!!!

I'm still jealous. I cant imagine being that young with a car like a MINI!!! I thought first cars were there to teach one humility, and how to fix all that goes amuck under the hood/bonnet???

I didn't realize chokes were still used so late in life. My first car had one, too, but it was a 1953 Chevy. Four-door, so it wasn't very cool. But a great car to learn how to shift in.

Bought it when I was 15. Loved being able to get a license at 14 in Idaho.
