R56 Production Week 31 Support Group
and 51 gets you to second... so I've learned. I'm not sure about 3rd... maybe 101. Lots of work to do
For those whose new MINIs are coming over on the Courage, I was sailing in Southampton harbor this Saturday (8/11) and snapped a whole bunch of picutres of the Courage and the MINIs on the top deck of the parking garage awaiting loading. I see that the Courage has now sailed. The Tagus was also still in port on Saturday, but not at the Ro/Ro docks. She was farther up the port, probably getting fuled for the trip.
FYI, the Courage is not a WW ship, but the only US flagged Ro/Ro.

Anyone ever been on the crew or onboard one of these types of ships?

Wallenius Lines
Not to argue, and just so people don't get confused, the Courage is owned by one of the Wallenius companies.
Well tracking my Mini for the last 7 weeks I had a lot of time to kill, so did a lot of searching to figure out the WW ships.
Wallenius owns/operates three lines and one is out of NJ, the ships colors are either red/white,blue/white, or the green/white.
The Wallenius lines have been around since 1935 and is very complex and one can spend hours tracking down info. The link below is the fastest to see what lines Wallenius owns/operates.

The WW site is now updated for the Otello, but I'm not sure if I'm just seeing an error of some kind. The site now has two lines listed for New York, both having 8/16 as the arrival and departure dates, with one row being red & the other being black. There are also two rows for Baltimore, both having 8/18 as the arrival date, but one having 8/18, while the other has 8/19 as the departure dates.
Also, when I check the OL, it now says that my car is 'en route', but it seems like this is for when it's on the boat (considering that the description says 'your MINI can't wait to dock, hit the road, and chew up solid ground again.')
Regardless, the bottom line is that either the Otello has left New York, or it hasn't. How's that for a definite statement?

Here's a few more pictures from the port at Southampton from Sat 11 Aug. The one of the Turan shows her farther up the port, with cargo already on board (note how she is riding in the water) getting fuled just before departing.
Good call...it's soooo confusing. I'm guessin we're docked and the cars are being taken to the VDC. I'm going to call my MA tomorrow and get the scoop. They should know what's going on.
Ya it says En Route but that means on the ship...no updates yet on getting off the ship or to the VDC. But the OL also has been about a week late in updating (ie it just stated En Route yesterday which was actually 8 days after it was En Route! hahah... ah well. My MA said I should get it by around next Wed.
Ya well I also didn't go all out with the Aero Kit and all your other extras
He said that it should be at the VDC tomorrow, sit there for 1-2 days (Sat. or Sun leaves) and be at the dealership by Mon or Tues at the latest...then I sign some papers and pick it up Wed. I'm so excited (except I really wish I had kept the weekend open to just drive it around the whole time!!)

DDoes anyone know if there is a distribution center in New York? The Courage will be stopping in New York and Baltimore before getting to Charleston, SC. I live in Michigan and was wondering if they would drop my car off in New York... 5 days before getting to Charleston.
hmmm
hmmm
The VDC is actually in New Jersey. That's where they dropped mine off. If you go here... http://schedule.2wglobal.com/ ...and go under Customer Care, Cargo Tracking, Auto Cargo and put in your VIN number, it will tell you where they are dropping your car off.

I called my MA this morning and he told me that the car is like a UPS pkg. Once it gets taken off the ship, they scan the VIN number and put it in line with the other cars. Then they go through an inspection and cleaning. After that, they ship them out to the dealer. I would give your MA a call and see what's going on with your car. Hopefully they can give you a reasonable ETA.
Well he did that, but I want to know details!! haha like - being loaded on truck, going thru NY tollbooth, arriving at dealer!!
It should arrive at my dealer by "early this week" according to my MA.

West Coast here saying "Congrats!" to all you happy week 31 East Coasters! Post pics when you get your babies, so all of us here by the Pacific can drool over them for the next 2 weeks or so. . . :D
Yeah, that's what I said, but no such luck. Oh well, until then, I must wait now for the phone call from my MA.
wahoo! My car arrived at the dealer today!! But, sadly, I have to wait for the Letter of Origination or some codswallop to go and see it AND THEN i have to wait 1 more day since they have to do the registration out of state :( :( BUT it is there, safe and sound
