I ruined it for myself!
The other night I told my wife if we won the lottery, I was going to get a BRG MCS to match her R56 BRG Cooper. She had a fit. It looks like she has laid claim to being the only Mini owner in this family. If I'm good, she lets me drive her car occasionally, but that's usually to get her gas (we live in NY on the NY/NJ border and gas is 30 cents cheaper in NJ). Well, looks like I'm stuck in my Subaru. Once again, driving her car is the most fun I've ever had behind the wheel. I'm envious of you two Mini families.
Why is she resistant to you getting one too? Is it because she's got a MC and you'd get the MCS?
I can't imagine her not wanting for you to have as much fun driving as she does. There's just nothing that compares to MINI-dom.
We'll be a 3-MINI family by the end of August. My son will be getting one when he turns 16. We must ensure the continuation of the MINI cult with future generations.
Bring your wife to NAM, and we'll convince her that 2-MINI families rock!

I'd even give her the S while I took the Cooper, but I think she's holding it against me that I originally didn't want her to get the car. But after a 12 Mile Program, I have seen the error of my ways, and I have reformed.
1. Just be patient and keep working on her.
2. Bring her to Minis on the Dragon 6.
3. Agree to get a used one older than hers.
4. Tell her you will do anything and mean it.
5. DON'T give up.

Basicly he's saying to pucker up and start kissing some major........ And in the future let this be a lesson to you not to dis something before you try it...

Just a standard 2005 Outback wagon; non-turbo. Previously had a 1998 that I sold in 2005 w/ 156,000 miles; but had to repalce engine @120k, head gaskets blew (common for 1998-1999 2.5L engines).
The more MINIs the merrier!
HOWEVER, if my husband decided to get a MINI in the exact same color as mine, I would be a little irritated. (Listen, if your wife had a great dress and her best friend went out and bought the exact same dress in the same color, do you think she would be flattered / happy?)
Now go out there and work on her. You're missing out on a lot of great driving!

How about buying her the new one, and you getting the hand-me-down. Then you get to play the martyr. Take her shopping. Find one she not only likes better than the current one, but can't live without.

I got a mini too, your purchase really made me look at minis and I liked what I saw. I got a 2005 JCW Cooper S and I couldn't be happier!
Thanks Tom!
