Minibird is P-I-M-P!!!!! I love the Nav Screen and I wish those webspokes were available in Canada...

Tell minibird thanks for the reassuring words - Soon my MINI will be happily motoring around Toronto telling stories of an ocean travelled.

Happy motoring Birdman! I had assumed you had picked her up without incident, since there was not much action on the Week 24 board. Hopefully I'll be one of the next ones dropping pictures on this thread (*fingers crossed*)!

That's what I've heard as well. I'm anxiously awaiting mine to find out.

Thanks max, The PDC disaplay is great, in some ways better than an acutal camera. It's visual, and audi with beeps. The image changes color as you get closer. I'll snap some shots in the morning and postem.

Birdman, congrats!

Looks great, my car is Dark Silver, too, so seeing yours just gets me even more excited! I'm crossing my fingers for delivery tomorrow or Monday. Enjoy your new baby!

Have you guys who reached port on 6/30 or later gotten a status change in OL or on ASK MINI? OL is still en route, and ASK MINI went backwards to awaiting a shipping vessel. :( My MA is out today and tomorrow but I was hoping I would be able to pick it up Friday...I guess that's not happening.

Pedanni, forget the OL stuff at this point. Mine went from "Awaiting transport" to "@ Dealer" Monday morning (when dealer received it). I can't wait for you guys to get em, your going to be so happy. Did I mention this car is GREAT???

Ask and you shall receive. Although it was very difficult work, hard, long drawn out work!! I mean, I had to go out to the car on this rainy wet day, and get in my Mini to take this picure, you guys better appreciate the labor this took!!!

And please, by all means, if you have any other questions or want specific pics, I'll break down and go out and take more for ya, don't hesitate to ask!!

The first pic is when you get close to an object, in this case my 4x4 F-150 truck with large tires on it, the bumber is close to the roof of my mini. It's amazign the PDC picks it up so high, but it does. The truck was about 1 foot away in this pic, as you get closer the color changes from green, to yellow, then red:

This is what it looks like when you are 4 or 5 feet away from somthing, on one side. Nice how it picks up small objects like poles... I had somebody stand in the middle a few feet away, it showed only the middle blocked, so it knew it was a pole type object only in the middle.

birdman- thanks!

Thanks Birdman! Yes, I can understand all thre work you went through to get the pics of the PDC! I'm sure you weren't planning to visit your mini that day!

The PDC looks totally cool, I am glad I added it to Max-the-2nd! I like the sensitivity to object location. Very cool....

I think PDC may be quite a bit better than a camera...esp with audio warning... Thanks for the pics!

So. Great news!

I went by MINI Oakville yesterday, just to "ask a few questions" (a.k.a. take out a car for a drive). My MA decided to join me. Little did I know he had a little surprise - they lost track of my car...in a good way! I turns out my lil' baby found an express route from the eastern seaboard to Ontario.

Yup thats right! I met her yesterday. She's fackin' gorgeous! Totally worth the wait. I should have her all to myself by Wednesday.

I was caught off guard so I couldnt get any photos. Just thought I would share the story with an appreciative audience!

Congrats PAV!!! Must have been hard to see her, then have to leave her!! (man, I did alot of that when I was young!!)

I just got back from an all day tour with Minibird... What a pleasure to drive... Parked right next to a Lamborgini (sp?) in Sag Harbor. I don't know what they cost, but I think they are something like $400k+, and given the choice to drive, I'd take the mini!!

Somebody else in Week 24 better do a pickup soon, who's next? Pav??

The Adventure Begins

Okay, T-Bone has arrived and I am enjoying the heck out of him. However, I incorrectly thought that I knew how to post an image to this forum. Assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks Phil, GI, Max, and "Don Birdman". I'm getting very excited to take her out!

Max, I'm impressed by the patience it must take for all the west coasters... I'm amazed I made it. But seeing her made it all worth it.

Phil - we need some (working) pics of T-Bone. I'd love to see the Blue with LL Interior. I know there is a thread about imbedding pictures that might be of some help (sorry, no link to it)...

"Don Birdman" - You're right, I think I'm next in line. Set up my insurance this afternoon. MA is hoping for a Tuesday pick up... I'm hoping for Monday, but won't be holding my breath!

Whilst I figure out how to post images to the forum, you can check out the first two T-Bone pics in my gallery.

Congrats Phil!! Welcome to the club! It's about time, Minibird thought he was the only wk24..... ;-)

To post a pic, first upload it to your gallery, like you did. Then view the pic in the gallery by clicking on it. Whuile it is showing, right click on it and select properties, now copy the path to the file (example): https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ium/Slide1.jpg

Lastly, start a new post, and click the Insert Image icon (yellow with mountians icon), now paste the path you had copied, wallah!! Post it.

Here's phil:

Thanks Birdman!

What a car this is. Not only is it incredibly unique and fun to drive (darn back surgery, manual must be incredibly fun) but folks in my neighborhood who were virtual strangers, are no more. T-Bone is a true people magnet. So far, everyone loves the unique happy blue color, the huge speedo and the fact that 50+ year old Phil is toolin' 'round the 'hood in this thing. I love it! I'll take more pictures as soon as I can.

By the way, thanks to all of you. The wait for T-Bone would have been alot worse without my MINI community to share and understand.

Phil - your car is HOT LIKE FI-YA! Love the colour pattern and the dark interior, it works amazingly well. You're also right about the support network NAM has been. Since I first ordered my MINI, its been great to share experiences and incessant wondering and eager anticipation. I don't know how to explain it, but other car owners just don't understand!

I think I might go pay my little baby a visit today. I might need to hop a barbed wire fence, but you gotta do what you gotta do... I wonder if they have dogs? I'll take a full set of sausage links just in case!
