New Exhaust for MC. What would you like?
Is this a different exhaust system from the one being discussed in this thread? http://www.piloracing.com/proddetail...NEXHAUST&cat=7

Once it comes in, it's a short drive up the freeway to get it fitted.

The total weight of the exhaust is 22.8lbs. with hardware and gaskets. The piping, muffler and flanges are all T-304 Stainless. The only discrepancy thusfar is that the tip is not slash-cut. This is typical with prototypes... we do the slash cut and badging for final production... keep that in mind.

So yeah... so far so good? Lemme know peoples.

After speaking to Steve, we agreed on me taking my MC to them on Tuesday of next week. (This week is going to be rather busy since my firstborn is getting married on Saturday.)
Can't wait to hear it!

Don't be too quick to slash cut it. Wait to see what it looks like on the car first. If nothing else, it might affect the angle you decide to cut it at. I can't remember, what did you decide to go with as the tip diameter?

Thanks also for keeping up with all the pots you have on the burner.

As to the exhaust . . .
It has a deep resonant mellow sound at idle and low rpms. Above 3500 rpms, the music gets a bit louder, but not annoying (IMO).
One difference between my old Magnaflow and this new Megan is flatulence.
Yup, revving up in first then throttling down sure farts up a storm!
The Magnaflow did it a bit smoother every now and then but this new can sounds rather agressive when flagrantly (not fragrantly) cuttin' cheese. More later!

Thanks To All Who Helped!!!
Juan allowed me to drive his car so that he could hear the car from the outside. From the inside it was very mellow and smooth. When you got at WOT it got pretty aggressive but still remained smooth without rasp.
From the outside... the tone was very similiar, just a bit deeper. At WOT though, she really sings. I really liked the way this exhaust came out, and being apart of a company that designs exhaust products for a large range of applications, I can get pretty picky about things like this.
I think this project turned out pretty well... I'd like to thank Juan and the rest of the Mini Cooper community for pitching in their opinions and feedback on this exhaust and helping me develop such a product that tunes towards the MC-Masses.
At first there was a little fitment issue, but that was due to Juan only having one exhaust hangar. He got another one from the Mini Cooper Dealership and voila! Perfect fit.

As promised, here are a couple of clickable pix of the Megan on my MC.

And, here is an impromptu (22-second) sound clip: http://blu-iguana.us/mods/MeganSound.mp3
(You really need to turn up your computer's volum to hear it well.)

I might be able to borrow some professional quality microphones from work for a better sound.
