2012 Mini Countryman S Rough idle

Good Evening,

I am new to this forum as well as a new Mini Countryman owner.
I recently purchased a 2012 Mini Cooper Countryman S w/61,225 miles. When I start it, it starts fine but within 1 min., the RPM's drop, and the car starts to idle irattic for about 1.5-2 minutes then smooths out and is fine. Last week, check engine light came on so I took it back to the dealer yet again. In short, they found that the fuel pump needed to be replaced as well as needing new plugs. This morning, I started it up and the same symptoms are there. In fact, I started it up this evening and still had the same fires right up then within a minute, RPM drop, rough irattic idle.

Has anyone else on here had this issue? I forgot to ad, I did put some 44k in the tank about a week ago hoping that would help with carbon in the injectors.

Any help on this matter would greatly be appreciated.

I have the same symptoms as your, but no check engine light and the first thing come to my mind is the HPFP...please let me know when the dealer figure it out. Thanks
So the dealer replaced the high pressure fuel pump and it still do that??? Ignition coils? Is your Mini still under warranty and they replaced under warranty??

Mine is also doing the exact same damn thing! Mine is a 2012 countryman it did the same thing on every cold start but if I gave it a little throttle it smooths right out but idont have any power loss but I do have the cel on it wasn't come on the first few times it did this but one day it did randomly and gave me all cylinder misfires in 1 2 3 and 4. Think it's the pump going out too but not sure I'm having it serviced this Thursday under warranty so I hope replacing my fuel pump will help the problem.

HPFP being replaced today under the 10 year 120,000 coverage, yeah! Only cost is for a new serpentine belt they say is cracking.

Did they do HPFP? Maybe you need the other pump replaced as well?

They replaced my hfpf and the sensor for it as well. How many miles do you have on yours? Maybe I should tell my dealer ship this is what fixed someone else's

2011 with only 63k km,and cleaning up the carbon buildup wasn't covered on my extended warranty, it's under maintenance , the walnut shell blasted the valves. But the seals and gaskets was covered. Plus they replace my comfort access on my door handle too, it wasn't working.

Yeah mine is 2012 with 43000 how much did it cost for the carbon blasting??? Yeah I had my hpfp replaced and the sensor for it they also fixed ny trunk for free. It wouldn't open at all. So what all did you have done to fix your problem? I feel like it's only on our 2011 and 2012s

All have this problems, make sure no leaky seals, 730$ Canadian but since they replaced the valve gaskets they reduced the labor so I pay 520
