NSW Dinner!
NSW Dinner!

The Welcome Dinner is full
& it's looking like us slow Welcome Dinner signer-uppers need some food for Thursday night. But there's no need to pout, we are having the 1st ever Not-So-Welcome Dinner at our cabin in Fontana Village. Anybody that wants to come to the NSW cabin & eat some yummy chili Thursday Night around 5PM (eastern time) is welcome.I propose to cook a ginormous pot of chili for any of us that missed the welcome dinner cut off because, while we may be procrastinators, we still feel the need to gather as a herd. If a whole bunch of folks want to come I will make a double or triple ginormous pot if need be with plastic sporks & bowls how hard can it be
. All I ask is that you might drop me a PM or post in this thread if you wanna come & have a bowl so I will know how ginormous my chili pot should be. Please come, come on over, the more the merrier. Thanks to MINI of Nashville for sponsoring some food & everyone else that is bringing something. We are good to go on food.
T-Shirts will be deivered by shankrabbit at the Dinner to those that ordered. (see post 90)

If I've missed anybody let me know
& thanks to shankrabbit for the most excellent artworkEdit for Charity Update: It seems like many of the other MOTD functions are donating to a good cause & HEY we are now legit enough to have our very own T-Shirt so lets jump on the charitable bandwagon too. If you can't give that is A-OK but if you can even spare a dollar, it will be greatly appreciated. I will put a donation jar out at the NSW Dinner. It will be amazing if we can raise enough to sponsor one or 2 animals...

PLEASE DONATE
to the Shelby County Alabama Humane Society
Shelter Partnering Program
EVERY $50 DONATED
SAVES ONE DOG’S LIFE!!!
In 2005, 4400 animals were euthanized in Shelby County Alabama
because homes could not be found for them. While in New Hampshire
there are waiting lists for animal adoptions due to their more stringent
spay & neuter laws. Since November 22nd the Shelter Partnering Program
has found new homes for 158 dogs with families in New Hampshire.
The program relies on volunteer drivers & donations to transport the
animals on the 1317 mile rescue trip to New England.
For every $50 we raise, we can sponsor one dog to leave the Alabama shelter
& go to New Hampshire. The Shelby Humane Society will send us a picture of
our sponsored dog (hopefully we can raise enough to sponsor more than one dog).
They will also provide us an update once our dog(s) has been adopted.
Once we get our pup's info, I will post it on NAM so we can follow our dog’s progress.
Please donate so we can save a few lives

I'll help out with some food.
I can make up a pan or two of Lasagna ahead of time and possibly a grill for hot dogs or something if more show up.
I like your name. The not-so-welcome dinner.

sounds like we got a meal happening for us procrastinators. The not-so-welcome dinner no disrespect to the welcome dinner organizers at all we are just the shameful procrastinators that have learned our lesson for next year because we missed out. We need some takers & a head count

not that we could feed 300+ people but still, changing the date/time would require extra planning which, sheesh, <sigh> you know good and darn well is not an option for us procrastinators

But in all seriousness, we are serious about having a notsowelcome dinner for our fellow procrastinators

Sorry about the sell out folks
, when we started planning this in October, we used the 240 dinners sold at last years Dragon (over a 8 week span) as a guage. Never in our wildest dreams did we anticipate selling 300 tickets in four days.

Bamatt,
Chilli sounds great!
I don't you guys, you don't know me. But if you own a Mini and you are going to the Dragon...you must be alright. In my book anyway. I look forward to meeting you and making some new friends!

Count me in as a possible. My wife bailed on the Dragon due to choir commitments(
), so I'm gonna see if a friend wants to come and that'll determine if I'll be down on Th. or Fr. (hopfully Th.) (<--- apparently I've got Brew-Swap on the mind!

Lets see how many takers we get. I can easily cook enough chili for 30 in my stock pot & SB is going to bring something too (possibly lasagne). If it gets too big I will let ya know if we need you to bring some extra food
Teresa
Bamatt, we have two more from RCM. They don't post here so I don't have a username. Just put two down for RCM.
I'll be bringing some lasagne and if needed a grill or two for extra food.
BTW, we may have another door prize. Two free passes to the Dragon Parade.
