3:00 might be a little early to start for a BBQ. The GP is at 1:00, and then there is the Formula BMW USA race sched for 3:15. Might be a few people showing up late.

Thanx

Well, the picnic/cruise is for Saturday, the race is Sunday. Yes, qualifying is Sat., and a bunch of other stuff, too.
So come party with us the day before the race!
Cheers!

Got the tickets for the race, the car corral, and registered for the cruise, what could be better.

Not much - see you all there. And remember, you get to drive the track on Monday afternoon if you renew your tickets for next year.

I noticed you mentioned having tickets for the car corral. Any info for us new members? I already have our standard 3 day parking pass for Lot 1 but will blow those off if I can park with other MINI folks!

The car corral is open to all MINI owners that hold a minimum of 2 race day tickets (you can get the "season pass" which is general admission tickets for all 3 days). If you already have your tickets you can call the ticket office and let them know you have your tickets but would like to get a car corral pass. You will need to know your ticket account number. There have been some issues in the past with them asking if you are a car club member. If they ask just let them know you are with MINICCI.

The car corral this year will be in the grass behind the viewing mounds.

If you have any other questions just post or PM me.

Should all of us meet in somewhere and drive to the track like last year?

Yeh, with work and then the race in May, I have been pretty busy. The MINI has been in sitting in the garage quite a lot. But that is all behind us now, so we can resume regular motoring!

And I 2nd the idea of meeting someplace so we can all motor into the track together!

I have an email into the coordinator to see if they have anything set up for an escort into the track. If they will not be having one we can set up our own, just without the police to stop traffic. I will let you know when I have an answer!

Never been down there for the race but I think I'm motivated now. We're coming down Saturday from Michigan to join you guys for the BBQ and parade. Haven't figured out which ticket I should get for Sunday and to join the Corral. Any suggestions?

Thanks:smile:

I think we are going to go with the "season pass". They are 60.00 and get you in Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you buy 2 you can get a car corral pass with them. We will just sit on the viewing mounds this year. We were very disappointed with the grandstand seats last year. I don't know if there are any grandstand seats that are 60.00 or less so the mounds will be fine for us.

If you need any other info you can email or PM me.

The NW Vista is the place to be as you have a perfect head-on view of the start and front straight (including the cars coming off of the banking); the main passing area at the end of the straight; and the infield section until the cars turn onto Hulman Boulevard. Plus, there's a big screen right in front of the stands. I've had them since the first year and refuse to give them up. Qualifying, on the other hand, is best enjoyed in the upper stands opposite the pits - the sound is incredible!

See you guys at the cookout - and more.

Me too, section 16, row gg, see you there .

I think though that I will try to sit on the paddock (start finish) on Saturday. I don't know if I can take two days of sun .
