USGP 2005 Car Cruise and Cookout
Hi Cheryl,
I hope I am not too late to rsvp for the cookout, car cruise, and police escort on Sunday morning. Just got clearance to come and will have two passengers in the Killerbee. Enjoyed seeing you last weekend at Putnam Park. I will try to call in the am (at a decent hour.)

Just to let all ya'll that didnt make it to this meet, we had a blast today!!
It was great meeting all the STL and Indy folk at the BBQ (excellent food).
And the parade was so much fun. The cops were so nice and really interested in the MINIs. One of them even did some stunting - standing on his bike while riding past us
. We had two classics with us and lots of other nice MINI 2s. Getting up early tomorrow to make the drive into the track.
Wish you were 'ere

This wasn't just any "moron" doing this... These guys train quite a bit. Indianapolis has one of the largest motorcycle units in the nation and they work hard to keep it that way, one way is to have the drill team b.c they are good entertainment for the public ... they're not some punk on a crotch rocket on 465 trying to get attention.
Maybe my career and my living situation make me biased but they do deserve some respect at least...
Thanks!
I would like to thank everyone that attended the MINICCI cookout and praticipated in the Downtown Cruise. It was great to meet new MINI folks and see some that we met last year. I hope everyone had as good a time as I did!
I would like to especially thank Davisio of MINICCI that was involved with the cookout and Redbird73 of the St. Louis MINIs that coordinated the cruise. I don't know that we could have pulled it all off with out you guys!
Again thanks to all that made this such a success!!

Thanks to MINICCI for today's car corral event at IMS. Great day (until 1:00 p.m. anyway) and good to see so many MINIs turn up. Hope to see ya again next year, if there is a next year F1 event.

I'm not anti-police in general, but I find it difficult to muster up respect for those who are supposed to uphold the law when they can't be bothered to obey it themselves.
I too would like to thank TenCan and Daviso and RedBird73 for all of the work they put in to make it fun and entertaining for the rest of us.
Thanks and hope we will be able to do this again next year.
Also, I thought that the stunt driver was great entertainment as well from a trained professional. The kids really did like this.

A big thanks to MINICCI for the BBQ. It was really fun and we met lots of great MINI people!
The car cruise worked out great as well. The Indy motorcycle police were awesome as usual.
Thanks to Michelle Fahey for giving us the slot in the car cruise. As a reward, she got to ride with me in my S during the cruise, which almost felt like an autocross!
Thanks!

Another round of thanks to all the great people who were down in Indy. We met a lot of really excellent people at the BBQ, Cruise and the Car Corral. Everyone there made us newcomers feel welcome and part of the group. Both my wife and I commented that with the the way the race turned out, the MINI events were by far the savior of the weekend. And we are hardcore F1 fans. So thanks to all for making it a winning weekend despite the bad behavior by the F1 circus.

We rolled "late" into the car corral, around 10 or so, but still managed to meet alot of nice people. Maybe next year there won't be so much MINI stuff in one weekend (MOT, PKI & F1 ), so we can concentrate on one thing! PKI and F1 was a great midwestern combo, but I have to say that the Italian Job roller coaster had more "thrills" than the race! Just glad to be sitting in the NW Vista where we saw the only action all day. Let's do this again next year if there is a race.
